If they wanted to buy me something, fine, but if not...I was like you. I wouldn't hold any grudges or whatsoever unlike my nephews these days. They can become so demanding, but what I observe that we need to talk 'nicely but firm' to them over and over again.

Glad I'm learning something valuable from your story. Thanks for sharing. I'd also practice it if I have my own kids someday. ;)Choc Mint Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06258842426940547612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4756387640551134005.post-86923710925300713412007-11-24T03:49:00.000+02:002007-11-24T03:49:00.000+02:00I really enjoy reading about your job as a tutor. ...I really enjoy reading about your job as a tutor. I gave tuition when I was young too and taught in a primary school as a relief teacher for a while.

It's good to hear from a tutor's point of view. I send my kids for tuition for many years and thank god they don't cancel tuition at the last minute. I won't allow that becos I know how irresponsible that is. It's opportunity cost for the tutor. Pls all the preparation the tutor has done... anyway, thanks for sharingBlur Tinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07792543153416871887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4756387640551134005.post-73968659246014065292007-11-24T02:17:00.000+02:002007-11-24T02:17:00.000+02:00Hi Amel, I completely agree with you. I once taught maths to someone who just wasn't interested in learning. In the end I told her parents they were wasting their money paying me.fishwithoutbicyclehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12071691302805126529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4756387640551134005.post-87528878656873645062007-11-23T23:51:00.000+02:002007-11-23T23:51:00.000+02:00Hi again, M! I wish I had thought of that when my kids were little, however I think we probably did teach them that without even trying. At least I hope we did.
I know exactly how you felt about those private students when they didn't show up at the last minute. I taught private piano for many years and that was really annoying when they just didn't show up and I was sitting here waiting for them to be here. I don't miss that at all.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15822633179972256847noreply@blogger.com
