Honey, You Make Me Fat!

I hear those words from R2's lips every now and then LOL!!! You see, normally he eats a normal meal once a day. In the morning and evening he'd drink coffee with a sweet bun, a piece of sweet bread, or a slice of cake (depending on whichever I buy/make for him). During the night while watching TV together, though, sometimes he can't resist temptation, esp. if I've make him something that he likes. On the other hand, I'm someone who eats small portions of food MANY times a day (esp. when I'm working, I tend to eat more depending on what kind of shift it is - if I have to use more physical energy at work, then I'll eat more).

One thing that I like preparing for the both of us is chili tuna puff pastry. So I just have to buy a package of frozen puff pastry from the supermarket as well as Pirkka Tonnikalaa chilikastikkeessa (a can of chili tuna). Then I'll take out the frozen puff pastry and wait until they're soft, cut them into slices, and just spread the chili tuna on top of the slices, put them in the oven until they're brown. The chili tuna is already hot enough and delicious enough so that I don't even have to add any spices there. Easy peasy! So whenever I make something like this (or other types of snacks that we both like), he'd sometimes tell me, "Honey, you make me fat!" LOL!!!

The other day he joked to me that whenever we travel, he'd find this type of trouble: I tend to get hungry more easily ('coz of my eating habit), so we end up eating more often than he'd like to eat, BUT more often than not, he doesn't want to just sit there and drink something if I'm eating something in front of him.

So he said, "Let's say we travel somewhere, then as usual you'd get hungry more often than me and I'd have to eat, too. And then I'd try to tell myself that I'll compensate the eating with walking some more...BUUUUTTT then because of all the walk, you'll get hungry even more....ARRRGGHHH!!! Honey, you make me fat!!!"

ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL...what a vicious cycle! :-D :-D :-D I LOVE growing old with him! He makes me laugh! :-D

Oh, The Little Joys of Life!

A few days ago I had an evening shift and I stayed up late. R2 had to go to sleep right away after I came home from work 'coz he had to go to Rovaniemi the next day. He had to be there already at 8 am (it takes about 1,5 hours to go there by car). I was having too much fun reading a manga series so I just didn't want to stop until the end. When I realized the time, I decided to sleep on the sofa instead 'coz I didn't want to wake R2 up.

However, this time I left him a post-it note, hoping that the journey would go fine and that I wanted him to hug and squeeze me before he left HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...Otherwise he wouldn't have done it 'coz he wouldn't have wanted to wake me up he he...

I woke up twice due to coughing (yeah, there's still some phlegm left, can you believe it?) but then I got right back to sleep. The second time I woke up was when R2 had woken up himself and not long after that he did come to where I was lying down and what delighted me so much was the way he squeezed me (not just once but a few times!). It was as though we hadn't done it in a VERY LONG TIME he he he he...As if he hadn't wanted to be apart from me he he...

Ahhhhhh...BLISS!!!!!!!!!! :-D

P.S. Our wedding anniversary is coming up and usually we spend it in the cabin (either the weekend before or after the date), so we'll see if we can do it or not. I have to make sure R2 isn't on call that weekend. :-D And then I have to make sure that I'll have the full weekend off. :-D But anyway, I can't believe it's going to be our 6th anniversary already!!!!!!!! I really want to keep growing and growing old with him he he he he...

3BT: Random Days

1. The roses aren't dead! I could see some green buds since yesterday. I cut a few dead branches (that had dead leaves on them) but left all the others alone. We'll see how they grow! Blur Ting, THANKS for your advice!

2. MIL bought some raffle tickets for us all (herself, her hubby, me, R2, R2's elder brother and girlfriend) on some occasion and R2 and I won something HA HA HA HA...Coffee and a set of salt-and-pepper shakers.

3. I saw a hare outside MIL's place - too bad it was too swift for me to take a pic of it, but still it made my day! :-D

4. Heaters!!! After 7 days of "early summer" (temp. 20-28'C), spring days came back with COLD mornings and showers that made us have to turn on our heaters again. Ah...thank GOD for heaters!

5. A boy said to a girl (they are VERY good playmates at the daycare): "You're my girlfriend" and they told us about it HI HI HI HI...SO cute!!!

6. Seeing buds growing in the garden patch.

7. When on the way home from MIL's house, we stopped by next to a vast field 'coz there were swans fighting. I could only take these pics from afar (too late to capture the heated battle between two swans - they were flapping their wings while standing upright on the grass):

First pic: Click to view a bigger version. Notice the swan flying away on the right side of the pic and yes, those are reindeer at the back! These two swans who stayed on the ground managed to win (I suppose). There were at least two contenders (unfortunately I only captured one of them in the pic) 'coz it all happened too quickly.

Another one - sorry for the lack of sharpness - it was hard to get a good pic when I had to be quick and I couldn't come closer - at least the zoom helped 'coz with my old camera, I wouldn't have been able to get this pic.

8. I'm ordering a used Wii CD and I'm going to order another one 'coz we need more game varieties for our exercise day on Wednesdays (and 'coz I've found a cheap one that I think might be suitable for us). :-D

9. Having a garden to work on (a pic of us raking the dead leaves last Saturday):

10. Receiving a HUGE sack of soil, compost, and 6 pansy plants from my MIL.

11. I accidentally cut R2's hair the wrong way - but he wasn't angry. Instead he just told me to cut it all off he he he...THANK GOD for a patient hubby!

12. Playing as a horse (a standing one) and having two kids ride on my back - one at a time, of course. It was FUN and they didn't want me to stop HA HA HA...oh dear...

Fish Out of Water

Just a short update on the training. As usual, there are lapses of time when no tourist comes into the office, so that can be pretty boring. Moving to a place where I have to learn to speak a different language makes me feel like a fish out of water. I'm merely stating this as a fact, mind you. I'm not complaining or anything. I'm writing this down so that I'll always remember this. Plus maybe somebody else who's reading this and experiencing the same thing will feel not so alone he he he he he...

During my Finnish class, I didn't feel this way since we were together in the same pond or lake or ocean (us students), the same . But when the training started and now another one started, the feeling came back. I "almost" forgot that feeling he he he he...

There's something soothing about being inside your safety zone. The real challenge about being outside of your safety zone is being able to accept yourself no matter what and being able to be kind to yourself, even when you feel the least competent or able to do anything much.

You've gotta learn to be like a kid again, to embrace the unknown with enthusiasm, not with discouragement, cynicism, and self-reproach. And what's most vital is that you shouldn't give up mentally!!! And you've gotta learn to stop comparing yourself with others 'coz everybody grows at different paces, just like kids do.

Enough rambling! Time for me to take a nap. I'll blog-hop later he he he...
