First Summery Day

I've been busy this holiday week with spring cleaning, a car trip, and garden cleaning that I haven't had time/energy to blog or blog-hop. Last Monday was the first summery day here. The temperature was 21'C, so I decided to go on a bike ride because I also needed to buy some groceries.

Here are some photos I took. The grass in the photos aren't green yet, but they are green now. :-) In less than just a week there are so many buds already showing up here and there and the green grass just makes it clearer that summer is here, though the nights can still be pretty cold.

Sign of summer: sandals! :-D It felt nice to ride my bike without having to wear any jacket ha ha ha ha...Btw, those sandals are kiddies' size (that's why they're decorated - size 35). Cheaper than adult sandals LOL!!! :-D And yes, in the fourth picture you can still see some ice in the river, though it's melted away now.

That day I also saw two ducks in the river, so here are two photos...In the second photo, the duck was staring at me LOL! :-D I love the track it leaves behind, don't you? :-D

I spent two days cleaning the windows and changing the curtains ha ha ha ha ha...also did more exercise, which was good, too, though I overdid it twice, so some days it was hard to get up and move (my legs were especially sore) LOL!!! I've taken more photos ever since Monday, but I'm going to share them later.

Cabin Trip Again #1

Haven't had time blogging nor blog-hopping due to...dunno...so many things to do, so little time ha ha ha...and we had an unexpected cabin trip. At first we weren't going there 'coz R2's brother and girlfriend were supposed to go there, but then they cancelled it and I asked R2 if we could go. I wasn't sure we could go 'coz he said he probably had some gathering with his gaming buddies, but turned out we made it after all. WHOOOPPPPPPPEEEEE!!!

What's more, the weather has been SUMMERY, but the mosquitoes aren't out yet, so it was just PERFECT!!!!

When we drove to my in-laws' at around 5 pm on Friday, it was around 22'C and sunny. We played cards there and we walked to the cabin only at around 10 pm. Here are some pics taken from the area:

Walking towards the cabin:

Yeah, still some snow and ice around the lake area - that was why we had to wear boots to go there 'coz the ground was still wet and so soft in some parts (couldn't go there by car):

LOVE the clouds!!!

Zooming in on the clouds:

Me with the lake - the other side of the lake anyway:

Another one:

We warmed up sauna, ate some hamburgers and sausage, and finally went to bed at around 1 am. By the time we woke up, the sun was shining so brightly already and it was SO HOT!!! The temperature was around 27-28'C. I'll post more pics in a different blog post. Now I need to blog hop!!!

Planting Potatoes

Yesterday right after R2 got back home from work, we went to my in-laws and the cabin, of course he he he he...When we arrived there, my MIL needed our help to plant potatoes and two new plants. It was hard work for R2 to prepare the ground for the two new plants, 'coz the ground was filled with many rocks, so he had to dig them out. You'll see what I mean when you see the pics later he he...

First pic: the patch of land where we planted potatoes (the brown area, the covered area is for strawberry plants). It was the first time I'd ever done such a thing. R2 dug the ground, I "threw" one potato at a time, then he covered it up with some soil. MIL spread some plant food all over (not poo).

These two pics are the two new plants I mentioned. Some of the big rocks had been taken out a week ago, but some of them had to be dug out by R2.

See? So many small and medium-sized rocks he he he...One part I didn't like too much was when MIL spread some chicken poo he he he...it smelled so bad he he he he he he...but it was a fun day out in the sun, though it wasn't too hot he he...

Then summer signs are starting to show he he he he...

While R2 was fixing the car outside to prepare for our long journey, I spotted a family of hares from afar (there were 4 of them). As usual it was TOO hard to get near them as they were so alert and they'd run away if I reached a certain distance from them. I tried waiting and waiting for any one of them to come near me. I even sat on the ground and sat still, but to no avail he he he he...

However, LUCKILY while playing cards, I spotted one of them right outside the living room window and I took a few pics right away HO HO HO HO HO...SO HAPPY!!!!

We went to the cabin to spend a night there and R2 put too much firewood in the fireplace. We went to bed already at around 10.30 pm and at around midnight we woke up 'coz it felt as if we were inside a sauna ha ha ha ha ha....WAY too hot!!! We opened the door to let some cool air in (it was SO windy on Friday and Saturday in Kelujärvi - though the temp. reached 23'C yesterday, due to the harsh, cold wind, it felt as though it were only around 10'C). Anyway, it's just fun to spend time together without having to think of work he he he he...

Can't wait for our Rhodes holidayyyyyyyyyyy!!!! WHOOPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! :-D OK, time to blog-hop now he he...
