Lost and Found

Done with my training at the daycare. No tears, THANK GOD and THANK YOU all for your prayers! Well, it helped that the ones that were closer to me weren't there today - some of them have started their summer holidays already! I made chocolate pudding and vanilla sauce for the kids on Friday and today I made risoles for the grown-ups (I also brought some chili sauce for them to taste). Some of the kids and adults LOVED the chocolate pudding and sauce, but some kids weren't too fond of it hi hi...some of the adults also LOVED the risoles and chili sauce, but some thought the chili sauce was too hot for them (as what I had expected) ha ha ha ha ha...

The teacher then gave me a little gift (kuksa - click on the link to read it) and a LOVELY card made by the kids. Here are the pics: ---> (P.S. Kiitos means thank you)

What does this have to do with the title? Well, this morning I lost my spring pipo (woolen cap). I brought it just in case the wind got freezing cold. I put it inside my jacket's pocket and when I arrived at the daycare, I realized I had lost it. I must've dropped it somewhere along the way. I was determined to find it - knowing how it's like in Sodankylä - so I retraced my steps back on the way home and I FOUND IT!!! It was totally drenched 'coz hail came for a while today, but nobody had taken it HA HA HA HA HA HA...If this had happened in Indo, it would have DEFINITELY been taken by someone!!! I'm SO happy 'coz I don't need to buy another spring pipo 'coz it's my only one HE HE HE HE HE...

Anyway, here are some garden pics taken last Saturday.

First pic: The rose leaves are "up" from their winter sleep he he he...

And these two pics are the pics of the germinated seeds that I had planted there about two weeks ago. When will they get taller and taller, I wonder? I can't waitttt HA HA HA HA HA...

OK, now that I have plenty of time in my hand again, I can blog-hop more often, but before that I still have to learn how to plant more seeds and then I also have to do major spring cleaning - cleaning all the windows and stuff. :-D :-D :-D It's GREAT to have PLENTY of things to do and have the energy and health to do all of them! One thing that I must go back to, though - is keep practising Finnish (reading, writing, speaking, listening). Let's have a WONDERFUL summer then!!!

Seminar + 3BT

I've just booked a place for an entrepreneur seminar in this village. Funny thing is that the other day there was a rather slow day at work and during a break I managed to browse through a local newspaper and found the advertisement for this seminar. It's for free and it'll be held for two days on October 23rd and 24th. It's for anyone who's interested in opening their own businesses or who is thinking of opening one.

They will tell us what kind of businesses there are in Finland and all the basic info about opening your own business, funding, pricing, etc. Sounds good, right? :-))) We'll see how it goes then. :-)))) I feel like I'm about to step into another dimension or something, you know? In a way it's good to be able to find out these things before I go to Indo so that I can think of what to bring to Finland to try to sell here (or if they're worth selling here).

And now let me share my 3BT post here too:

1. Finding a generous sum of tips in one bedroom at the hotel HO HO HO HO HO...Remember that guests here don't normally give any tips, so if they give some, it's already more than good. But today I found one who gave a generous sum. WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! :-D

2. Used the money to buy salad, tomatoes, cucumber, and a bag of chips (new flavour).

3. Tasted the new-flavoured chips (sour cream and pepper) and LOVED it! ;-D

4. Almost forgot this one: The government has reduced the taxes for food by 5% (it was 17% and now it's 12%) until July 2010. It really helps me A LOT in cutting down my grocery budget. YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!

5. SUPER delicious chocolate pudding at the hotel. I'm drooling while thinking of the taste...simply superb...wish I could ask for the recipe hi hi...

6. Why, tomorrow is Friday and it's a cause for celebration 'coz then weekend is coming SOON and then I have only one day of work left (Monday) HO HO HO HO HO...

7. Found some CHEAP CHEAP reddish mangoes from Brazil in Lidl (at only €0.99 per kg - usually it's over €2/kg). OH YEAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!

8. The winter boots I bought on a discount last spring (that I only start wearing now) are REALLY REALLY soft and comfy. LOVE 'em!!! ;-D

Ystävänpäivä

Since Valentine's Day has been too commercialized, let me just use the Finnish version of it as my post title he he he he...

Last night I tried putting my mobile on silent and as a result I missed my Taebo session, since the darn mobile didn't ring at all. As you all know, hubby bought me a new mobile as a X-mas gift and I had never put it on silent before. Why did I put it on silent during the night? Well, the other night a friend of mine in Indo sent me an SMS in the morning (around 3 am Finnish time), so we both jolted up and woke up for a few seconds because of that. Well, I don't think I'll ever put it on silent again after this morning. Or maybe I should read the guide book to find out how to customize it.

Anyway, this morning in class my Brit friend MC gave me a Valentine's Day postcard.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, MC!!!

She picked the one with a picture of a CUTE cat, since she knows how crazy I am about cats HUA HA HA HA HA HA...The postcard is displayed proudly on my book shelf, right next to the card from Crystal and the postcard from Juliana RW. *grin*

When my class almost ended, I was thinking of buying some pepper steak from the supermarket and cooked them in the oven. However, when I checked the price, I changed my mind. 300 grams of pepper steak cost €8.50. I decided to buy some pepper steak from a nearby grill resto instead. After all, only by paying €10 I could get two portions of pepper steak complete with french fries and fresh salad on the side. I called hubby first to make sure if he wanted some and he said yes since he hadn't eaten anything during the day.

I arrived home at around 3.15 pm and couldn't hold back my hunger, so I ate right away. Hubby only came home at 4 pm and he ate right away. He finished it all. I still have half of it left he he he he...Then hubby thanked me and hugged me REAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL tight. Yummmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

For dessert we had some chocolate pudding (he bought some from the supermarket yesterday - he bought the kind that I LIKED so much he he...). Then I told him that it was a cheap date and he agreed HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

Today has been a nice day, even though it's SO windy. And the period of darkness has been slightly shorter. I notice that in the mornings it gets light earlier and it gets dark a bit later than usual. ;-D

Okie dokie, gonna blog-hop some more and then do my homework. Tomorrow morning I have to wake up early to do my Taebo he he he he...HAAIIIYYAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

P.S. Do you know that I've never received any flowers in my entire life? HE HE HE HE...Last year's Valentine's Day I bought myself some roses since I thought, "Well, I can buy myself some flowers if I want to, so why not? Let's make me happy!" And I didn't only make myself happy by buying some flowers. I also made Mom happy since she loved having 'em in our living room HA HA HA HA HA HA...

And here's one joke for you he he...
