Happy New Year, Everybody!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Everybody!

May this coming year bring us more love, hope, joy, grace, peace and health!

Day by day, dear Lord, of thee three things I pray:
To see thee more clearly, love thee more dearly,
And follow thee more nearly, day by day.

Saint Richard of Chichester

Help us to change the things we can change,
accept the things we cannot change,

and have the wisdom to know the difference.

7 Weird Things About Me

Colin tagged me to do this meme. Let's see what I can come up with he he...

1. I used to hate being born a girl, especially when I started my period at the age of 10.5 years old (I was VERY early for girls in my generation).

I hadn't gotten any Biology lesson about this yet and I was wondering what the brownish speck on my pants first I decided to let it be, but it got bigger and bigger and I didn't like it since I was wearing my WHITE shorts! I ran to Mom and she gave me some thick padding. Back then sanitary napkins were absurdly thick and not really highly absorbent and they had no WINGS!!! ARRRGGGHHH!!!! And I bled quite a lot during the first 5 years. I hated it. Each time a new teacher came into our classroom, we had to stand up as a sign of respect and each time I stood up, I could feel the blood gushing out. was THAT bad. Plus all the other girls mostly hadn't gotten their period yet and they could run about freely without having to worry about staining their pants or skirts.

Gladly now the blood count has been gradually getting less and less and we have thin super absorbent winged sanitary napkins now. YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!! ;-D

2. I used to be obsessed with having two boys in the future, but not anymore. I used to be afraid that if I had a daughter, she'd get violated...brrrrrrrrr...that thought really made me shudder. I know I had a weird point of view, but this meme is supposed to be everything weird about me, so bear with me ha ha ha ha...

3. I don't think I have ever asked questions such as "Where do babies come from?" to my parents when I was a child.

4. Sometimes I stomp my right foot when I want hubby to do something or to stop doing something. I never did it when I was a kid and the first time I did it after we lived together (we could live together only 4 months after we got married due to bureaucracy), I did it just for fun. Turned out it made hubby laugh like crazy, so I've been doing it every now and then. Hmmm...better stop later on when I have kids so that they don't copy that HA HA HA HA HA HA...

5. One of my weak points is that it's tough for me to see a bird's eye view map in my mind, esp. when it's a new place and I haven't been around that place too often. For example: if I usually go to a place a certain way and I had to go there from a different direction, I get confused hi hi hi hi hi...

6. Coffee keeps me awake. My eyes can be SO tired, yet my brain keeps on running amock like the Energizer Bunny HA HA HA HA HA HA...So if I need to stay awake for some reason, I only need to drink strong coffee (but of course with 3 teaspoonfuls of sugar and milk).

7. (Had to ask hubby about this last one) He said that sometimes I sounded like Marge Simpson HI HI HI HI HI HI...Especially when I groan audibly just like when Marge is upset to see Homer doing something stupid or dangerous HE HE HE HE HE...

I'm not going to tag anyone, but if anyone wants to do it, be my guest! ;-D

3BT: December 30, 2007

1. Hubby lovingly taking out something that didn't belong there from below my left eye. Thanks, Honey!!! ;-D

2. Tuna puff pastry. VERY VERY DELICIOUS!!! I also added some bits of smoked reindeer for the filling. I bought the frozen pastry in the supermarket, so all I needed to do was make the filling. Side note: I'm CRAZY about puff pastries even though they're fattening and high in cholesterol HA HA HA HA...

3. The joy welling inside me when hubby trotted down to the kitchen with a big grin on his face to grab a tuna puff pastry and then he said it tasted SO nice. Side note: He claimed earlier that he wasn't too fond of tuna, but the fact that he liked it must have meant that I did something right when cooking the pastry filling he he he he...

4. Finding a last-minute ad-writing opportunity that worth quite a lot HUA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

5. Realizing that we have SO MUCH food left in the freezer and in the fridge. That means I can cut down on my grocery shopping budget this week and I can instead buy some fruit or other stuff I don't normally buy HUA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

Help Hair: Products for Thinning, Damaged, or Sensitive Hair

If you have problems with your hair, especially when your hair starts thinning or it's sensitive and damaged, you should check out this product: hair shampoo with vitamins.

They have different products to promote healthy hair, skin, and nails, such as FDA-approved scalp treatment products for men and women, Help Hair Conditioner, Help Hair Vitamins, and Hair Gentle Shampoo. Their Help Hair Vitamins are also good for the growth of hair and nails.

Their scalp treatment products use minoxidil to promote hair growth. If you want to read the facts and figures concerning their clinical studies, you can simply visit the site. There you can read in detail why they are using minoxidil to treat hair-loss patients. Basically speaking, the study concludes that minoxidil is efficient and safe to use. Naturally the earlier you use scalp treatment products, the better. So if you've started to worry about your hair, just check out this site! The products they offer also work well for damaged or sensitive hair, so you needn't worry!

Movie Reviews: Atonement + The Nanny Diaries

Last night I saw "Atonement". Boy, if you want to watch a movie with a surprising twist, then you'd better watch this one!!! However, don't expect a light-hearted movie. It's a dark love story with plenty of twists he he he he...And it's definitely NOT for kids! It's based on a novel, which I think is BRILLIANT. I'm not surprised that the movie's nominated for 7 Golden Globes. ;-D Kiera Knightly is starring in this movie. ;-D

This is the plot outline in IMDB:

Fledgling writer Briony Tallis, as a 13-year-old, irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister's (Keira Knightley) lover (James McAvoy) of a crime he did not commit. Based on the British romance novel by Ian McEwan.

The other night I saw "The Nanny Diaries" while hubby was gaming in front of his computer. I was at first unsure whether it would be a good one or not, so I wasn't really enthusiastic, but since there were no other good movies to watch, I thought it would do. However, I was wrong. I enjoyed the movie very much since it had lots of important lessons he he he he...

Maybe most women know what's the story about since the novel became a hit already before the movie was made. I never read the novel, so I don't know if it's similar to it or not, but basically it's the story of a college graduate who works as a nanny for a VERY rich family in New York.

It touched me in some parts, since the boy which the nanny took care of obviously STARVED to death for his parents' love and quality time, but his parents were always so busy doing other things. In the end the nanny managed to get the boy's mother to spend more time with her son rather than going shopping or going to some charities or any other places.

Here are some quotes I love from this movie:

There's a common belief among anthropologists that you must immerse yourself in an unfamiliar world in order to truly understand your own.

2. I don't understand why someone can have everything and still miserable.

3. Grayer is not an accessory...Grayer loves you. He doesn't care what you're wearing or what you buy him or what school he gets into. He just - he just wants you there. That's it. And time's running out, and he won't love you unconditionally that much longer, so...for your own good, don't miss out on getting to know him.

If anyone of you has seen any of these movies, how did you like it or them? ;-D
