1. Talking to my brother and my Mom via Skype. They're a bit under the weather due to the changing season, but they're fine and the wedding invitations are all printed and ready to be sent.
2. Watching shimmery snow under my feet. When I walked outside as it got dark, I realized that under the light of the street lamps, snow looked like a sheet of gazillion tiny particles of diamonds, shimmering in the dark. It was SO lovely! All those years watching snow on TV, nobody's ever told me about this! It was SO magical! I wish you could see it for yourself (for those who haven't experienced it): sparkly, shimmery snow...mmmmm...
3. The joy of making my first "perfect" cake for Father's Day with hubby's help he he he he he...
4. Tucking hubby under the blanket on the couch after he got home from work. Mmmm...
5. Seeing my in-laws and hubby enjoying the cake I made and then hearing them say, "It's GOOD." Ahhhhh...such a delicious feeling!!! *wink*
6. MAKING MY OWN SNOWMAN with the help of hubby! He he he he he...I'll post it tomorrow he he he...
7. Eating hot reindeer soup made by mother-in-law as it was snowing outside. I was craving for soup, soup, soup he he he he...
8. Finding a cheaper Dean Koontz book online to buy for my hubby's Christmas gift ho ho ho ho ho ho...SPLENDID!!!
9. Coming home in the car, feeling like I was being on top of the world and then flying he he he he he...I could feel my entire body bursting with joy, joy, joy!!! I could literally feel every pore in my body bubbling over with joy. It felt SO good to magnify every single WONDERFUL moment that I had experienced and absorb it completely.

The Things We Did...for Cream!!!!!!
On Friday we had some adventure ha ha ha ha ha...I started making the apple cake for my father-in-law at around 3 pm and it turned out pretty well for my first apple cake. You can find the recipe here: Apple Cake.
Here's a pic of my apple cake. I actually added another egg and some more milk and butter to the original recipe he he he he he...

Anyway, things were going on pretty well until I started to make the cream. I had bought two small cartons of cream for the frosting and I was using a mixer to thicken it in a big plastic bowl when my hubby woke up from his nap after work. Then he asked why the cream was so watery, so I showed him the carton.
He said, "NOOOOOOO!!!! This is cream for coffee." I gasped and I was so sad. Mind you that there was no such a thing back in Indo (except the one in the spray can), so I didn't know that there would be a different kind for coffee!!! I told myself that I was stupid, but hubby said that it could have happened to anyone ----> this is why I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. He always encourages me whenever I make mistakes and he never scolds me or puts me down he he he...He simply told me to buy a different kind while there was still time. Luckily it was only around 6 pm though it was already dark outside, so I walked to the nearest supermarket to buy a different kind.
Once home, my hubby said he'd do it for me, but then the darn cream wouldn't get thick even after he mixed it for a LONG time. Yeah...it wasn't good cream, I suppose. I'll NEVER buy that brand again!!! Then hubby changed his clothes even though he wasn't feeling too well and said that we should go to another supermarket, so we went there by car.
Surprise, surprise!!! In the first supermarket we went to, the cream shelf was EMPTY. Hubby said, "I guess everybody is planning on baking a Father's Day cake. Let's go to another supermarket then." So we did, and finally we found it!!! Hubby bought some bananas and a carton of orange juice, as well.
At home, hubby said that he would love to slice the cake and add some filling. I told him, "Be my guest. I suck at slicing cakes, so YOU do it!" HE HE HE...
So he did, and he sprinkled some orange juice to the bottom layer to make sure that the cake wouldn't be too dry. After that he spread some strawberry jam and he said, "Hey, it'd be GREAT to put some bananas as the filling, as well." So that was why he bought the bananas!!!!
I said, "Great idea!!!!" So I sliced the bananas and spread it on top of the strawberry jam. Here's a pic of it he he he he...taken especially for my blogger friends to make you all drool HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

Then for the third time we made the frosting with the newly-bought cream, and this time GLADLY it worked. Phew!!! Then hubby still thought that the cake was too plain, so he added some frozen strawberries (the ones we picked ourselves last summer) on top and here's the final pic of the cake. Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

What do you think? DROOL, DROOL, DROOOOOOOLLLLL please he he he he...
We don't have a cake platter, so I decided that the easiest way to bring the cake was to keep it in the springform pan. The bad thing about this trick was that we couldn't frost the side of the cake. Oh well...at least we could bring the whole cake in one piece. Last Mother's Day, we only brought them a small piece of cake he he he...
Anyway, I never like anything that's too sweet (that's why I like dark chocolate better than any other type of chocolate), so bear in mind that this cake and the frosting aren't too sweet, so you can eat a HUGE slice of it he he he he he...
This morning we took it to my in-laws and they LOVED it. The cake tasted cinnamony and fruity and just perfect. Arttu even took a second helping hi hi hi hi...He has a sweet tooth ha ha ha ha ha...Then the rest was kept by my parents-in-law. :-))))
Now I wonder what kind of cake I should try next for my upcoming birthday (November 29th). Hmmmhhhh...I don't think I'll bake it on my birthday, but perhaps afterward so that I can bring some for my in-laws, as well. I'd better find some more recipes online he he he he he...
P.S. I drank some hot chocolate with the cream for coffee and it tasted SO SO SO SO SO DELICIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! *wink*
P.P.S. Stay tuned until I write the next post about My First Snowman!!! HUA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...I'm SO VERY HAPPY that I think I can flyyyyyyyyy...^__________________________________^
