Babies?

One of the things I dreaded when I went to Indo the other month was who was going to come up with the "baby talk". I dreaded that 'coz I would never know how to deal with them: do I tell them the truth or do I just smile and say nothing? The truth would be too complicated to tell, but I did tell "the truth" to one person who finally mentioned "baby talk".

One neighbour, upon seeing us walk outside the house, said, "Going out? Hurry and make some babies!"

I stopped, smiled and said, "It's OK even if we'll never have babies."

You should've seen her face!!! She didn't see that coming! With a shocked look on her face, she quickly said, "DON'T SAY THAT!!!!! I'm gonna pray for you so that you'll have kids."

Deep inside I was sighing and rolling my eyes, but to her I just smiled and said, "Why, THANK YOU for your prayers."

Why is it so hard for people to understand that we're OK even though we have no babies? It seems that THEY are the ones who want US to have babies more than we do. Don't get me wrong, though, I DO appreciate them and I DO understand their wish for us, but why can't they understand that it may not be what we want anymore? It almost makes us feel that we're not "complete human beings" without kids in our life.

FYI, two relatives hugged me upon saying goodbye, rubbed my belly, and whispered, "I'm praying for you to have babies."

OK, that's all good...but my cynical mind thinks, "If God says no, no matter how many times you pray, you won't see the result that you're wishing for." That's why I asked my closest friends for God's peace beyond understanding instead of asking them to pray for us to have kids.

One close friend told me, "You shouldn't have said that to the neighbour. You should've just smiled and said nothing."

Maybe she's right. I begin to feel that there's no use trying to make them understand our situation anyway. Oh well...

My Bro's Wedding

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!! I managed to call my parents again earlier today and I could talk to Mom, my brother, and his new wife he he he he he...

First of all, the wedding was a success though they said it was SO crowded there. They sent out 450 invitations and ordered 700 plates (portions of food). They held the wedding in one of the Chinese restaurants in Bandung. As usual, since it's a restaurant, they were ready to add more food if there were more guests. And indeed they had to add more food: 145 plates (portions) more!!! Gee...I can imagine how crowded it was even though they decided to rent both the first and second floor.

Even the restaurant owner was shocked and said to my Mom, "I've never seen these many guests coming to a wedding held here." HA HA HA HA HA...My Mom told me that it was because I didn't invite many relatives at all on my wedding day. Plus both my brother and his wife have SO MANY friends!!!!

Then my Mom said that my brother's wife's Mom kept on crying at church during the wedding ceremony. Poor her!!! Even today she came over to our house with her hubby to talk to their daughter he he he he...I guess they missed her already!!! ;-D My brother spent two nights in a hotel with his new bride, and then today they came back to my parents' place. They are given an upstairs bedroom and a small living room at the side of my parents' house so that they can get some privacy he he he...

Then I asked Mom to hand over the phone to my brother. My brother said that he was sweating like a pig NON-STOP for hours during the party since the room was so crowded. Oh daer he he he he...He bought a digital camera earlier today since tomorrow they're going to Bali on their honeymoon. I told him to be careful there and I wished him a nice honeymoon.

I also got to talk to his wife for a little while. She said that it was SO tiring he he he...but she was glad it was over. Then I asked how she liked her new bedroom. She said that she still couldn't sleep well since it felt weird that there was another "creature" sleeping next to her HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...Ahem...then I wished her an enjoyable honeymoon as well and I didn't talk too long since I knew her parents wanted to talk to her, too.

I'm glad that now my parents have a new daughter he he he he...I hope that they'll live together harmoniously throughout the years and that God'll give them good health all through the coming days. ;-D And I'm GLAD finally my brother got himself a digital camera so he can keep on sending pictures of my familyyyyyyy via emaillll he he he he he he he he he he he he he...

I've been busy today, so I'll only begin blog-hopping now he he he he...All in all, today's a WONDERFUL Monday for me. Hope today's been MAGNIFICENT for you too! ;-D

The Party Is On!

Sob sob...I just called my parents' place. Unfortunately the connection was bad, so I couldn't really communicate well with my Mom or brother. So I just sent an SMS to my brother to wish him all the best for tomorrow (his wedding day). Anyway, I wasn't going to talk for a long time with Mom 'coz they had lots of guests there: my Mom's siblings plus some of their kids, my Dad's siblings and some of their kids. I could hear chaos there. My brother replied my SMS and joked, "Yeah, it's so crowded here that it looks like a pigsty." HUA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

I can imagine how excited they are. It's always so NICE to gather with your relatives before or on a special occasion, especially when it's a happy occasion such as a wedding, don't you think?

My family's going to have a VERY busy day tomorrow! I'm just glad I could listen to my Mom's voice even only for a while. Just by listening to her voice, I knew everything was well taken care of and she was healthy he he he he he...

Today it's only 2'C and it makes the snow MELT!!!!!!!!! It's SO wet out there, folks!!! It's going to be dangerous if it stays this wet and then the temperature drops down again 'coz then there'll be a layer of ice on the roads. However, if it's still wet tomorrow, I can make a SNOWMAN again in my in-laws' yard!!!!!!!!!! HUE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...

Now all the trees are green again (no snow on the branches). I'm truly looking forward to tomorrow. It seems to me going to my in-laws feel like taking a mini vacation every Saturday. I LOVE that place SO much!!!

Ahhhh...tomorrow my brother's going to end his bachelorhood he he he...I'll send him SMS again later on and I'll try to call my parents again a day or two afterward to find out how it went. ;-D

Oh, speaking of party, last night my Brit friend (the organizer of our pikkujoulu or small pre-Christmas party) has contacted us to ask where we'd prefer to meet. I told her I wouldn't mind having some drinks or having dinner altogether in one of the restaurants here. She still hasn't set up any date yet 'coz she wants to know first when we're all available, but I think the party's going to happen before December 17th. We'll see he he he he...I'm pretty excited about this!!!! ;-D
