Today we talked about our "meeting" in sauna. We don't even remember anymore which online penpal club we had joined in that made us contact each other. We lost our emails for a few months since you formatted your hard disk in fall 1999 and you had forgotten to save the files first. However, both of us still remembers that it was I who wrote you first. And until now, we are still both relieved that we "met" through that online club.
A few weeks ago I saw something that really touched my heart in your parents' house. I saw your Mom watching your Dad while he was sitting on his rocking chair, enjoying himself. They weren't even talking to each other, but I could see the look of love on your Mom's face. Full of tender love. Your Dad raised an eyebrow quizzically and said to her, "Don't stare."
Your Mom laughed and replied, "I'm not staring. I'm merely watching you. Can't I watch?"
Your Dad smiled and said, "Sure you can watch. Just don't stare."
I was smiling so widely since it's happened A LOT of times with us, too. I often do that to you too and sometimes you try to block my view with your hand. I just LOVE watching you. I can't help it and I don't want to help it. After all, we'll never know when God will take one of us away from earth, so I just want to cherish every single part of you.
Months ago I also saw something very endearing to me. Your Dad was again sitting on his favourite rocking chair and all of a sudden your Mom walked towards him and squeezed him tightly with the same tender, loving smile on her face.
I can imagine us doing the exact same thing in the far future. I do hope we still have many more (hopefully healthy) years to come. The time we spent apart felt like a hundred years. During those years, time dragged on like a snail. Yet this past one year and almost five months we've spent together in the same apartment feels so short. Time is indeed very relative.
I never thought that the feelings I had for you would stay this strong even until now (even though I can be a hopeless romantic, yet I'm still a realist and I know that feelings fluctuate), but I'm GLAD the fire is still burning brightly inside me. Surely after we started living together, every once in a while we "rub each other's fur the wrong way", but that doesn't mean that I don't want to grow old and keep growing with you. We are stronger when we're together, even though we're capable of living our own lives fully on our own.
I'm GLAD we have saved SO MANY emails and chat files. SO MUCH recorded love. Sometimes we forget the details of our love history, so it's good to be able to reminisce the past. And maybe someday our children and grandchildren want to read them, too.
After we got to know each other better, I knew that you were the one, even though the realist part of me had a hard time believing that, especially before we met in real life. I'm GLAD we found each other and I'm GLAD we persisted in our love despite the odds. I'm GLAD we didn't give up on our love, even though the roads were so rocky for years. I hope we'll always remember the rocky roads so that we don't take what we have for granted...
Remember our second "argument"? I don't even know if argument is the right term, since we talked in a normal tone of voice (well, okay, mostly I was the one doing the talking, trying to get my points across), just like our first "argument". But anyhow, we both knew during both times that the air between us changed, highly charged with tension, not knowing how far it'd be, yet in the end both situations were solved pretty well. I felt understood and at least I feel that I've also given you the chance to speak up (I hope that's what you felt, too).
One thing I gathered from both "arguments" was the confirmation that I've chosen the right guy. You have that sort of calmness that never stirs the storm in me. You've always made it easy for me to get rid of my stubbornness. Had it been someone else that "fought back" defensively, I'd have been more stubborn and I'd have reacted so strongly (even though I hate doing that). But you...you've never made me be the person I hate the most and I THANK YOU for that.
After all this time, despite our differences and the little "spices" in our marriage, you're still my home...my safe haven, my sanctuary...I know that with you, I'm safe and I can be the me I want to be.
Crazily eternally yours,
Your Adoring Wife

3BT: Random Days
1. Having a hubby that NEVER raises his voice at me, that NEVER makes me feel stupid by his actions, gestures, or words even if I sometimes do something foolishly. A hubby that is SO easy to love and that doesn't demand me to be a clean freak (yes, I'm a lazy pig HI HI HI HI HI...). A hubby that makes me laugh and makes it easier for me to love myself (and to love himself in return). A hubby that understands me and accepts me the way I am. A hubby that still makes me feel SO MUCH passion even while he's driving a car or doing nothing in particular he he he...
I know I'm repeating myself here, but I don't want to ever stop cherishing all the good things that he has.
Anyway, I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, Honey!!!! I've always known you're the one for me!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Being able to sleep pretty soundly after having SUCH a hard time to go to sleep due to my coughing fit (every few minutes I'd cough long and hard till my head and stomach felt painful). It was such a bliss to be able to sleep without coughing up once.
3. Talking about the future with hubby: our plans, dreams. Joking with him about our future "kid" he he he...
4. Having a conference chat UNEXPECTEDLY with two of my oldest best friends. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! ^___________________________________^
5. Telling hubby a few times that I think he's going to be a WONDERFUL Dad, esp. 'coz of his playful, wacky side. *GRIN*
6. Seeing three teenage girls in the store picking up every little thing they could find while chattering away noisily ----> the scene reminded me of my own teenage years where I did EXACTLY what they did, making the storekeeper annoyed with their presence hi hi hi hi hi hi...I can't believe it's 15 years ago...
7. Hubby's become quite an expert in coining my back (read: coining). And here's a sample picture of coining. He's always shaking his head and saying, "Masochist!" while coining me hi hi hi hi...

You're SIMPLY THE BEST!!!

Relaxation Weekend
Been busy again. Soon I'm going to bake some sausage bread to bring tomorrow. Tomorrow our class is going to visit the gold mine and the stone museum and we ought to bring our own food. Everything else is free, though HE HE HE HE...
And tomorrow evening we're going to Kelujärvi to spend a night there since my in-laws are going to Pori with Arttu's second brother to visit the eldest brother. Since their living room uses a wooden fireplace, we're given the task to warm it up and to water her plants. ;-D
At first Arttu thought that we'd just pay a visit on Saturday. His mother suggested that we could stay there a night, but he thought that it would be a bit boring to do. However, I managed to change his mind HA HA HA HA HA HA...YYYEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!
After all, we do need some quality time WITHOUT computers around. *GRIN* It'll feel like a quick weekend getaway for me ho ho ho ho...and maybe we can bake pizza or something there in their fireplace on Saturday. Or if we're lazy, at least we can cook some sausages in there. YUM YUM...
I CAN'T wait for tomorrow!!! But that means that I'll only be able to blog-hop again on Sunday or Saturday night, so wait for me to returnnnnnnn...
In the meantime, now it's time to bake some breaddddd!!!! :-D
P.S. About my friend in the last post before this one...she's doing better after crying for two days. The biggest problem is that her best friend had done something so awful to her that it had literally crushed one of her dreams for her own future. No wonder she was so upset!!!
After all, having one huge dream crushed due to someone you trusted with all your heart, someone to whom you had given much help, is more than enough to shatter one's world to pieces. I DO hope that later on she can rebuild that dream or create new ones. :-D Who knows that things might actually be better than she expected much much later in the future, right? One has to keep hope inside one's heart. ;-D
P.P.S. A QUESTION FOR EVERYBODY:
Is it a habit in your country for a married woman to change her surname into her husband's surname or use a double surname?
In Indonesia, that's not the case. I don't think I've known anyone who changes her surname into her husband's surname. I DO want to do it after hubby and I got married, but the bureaucracy process would take some time to finish and I didn't want to wait longer in Indo. After all, I had to report the name change and then change my passport and everything else, so it would be such a hassle. I'll just wait until I get Finnish citizenship to do so he he he...

To Ponder or Not to Ponder
1. Is it better not to know and keep your peace of mind or is it better to know yet be challenged with choices that might ransack your peace of mind?
Perhaps it's better to follow the steps in life without trying to jump over a lesson or two to make sure you're equipped enough to deal with the "tougher" lessons.
2. On The Future.
I used to be a hell of a planner. I planned every little thing. I LOVED it SO MUCH so that I became so inflexible (I think I'm still somewhat inflexible anyway). I HATE changes. Nevertheless, life's forced me to learn to enjoy the present and let go of my tight clutch on my future plans. I still have some plans for my future, but I learn that it's OK to enjoy the present without worrying about and focusing on my future too much. After all, I can die the next minute or the next hour.
Balancing everything in life is one of the hardest lessons on earth, but one can only try one's best.
So let me end this post with more quotes on the future, taken from Future Quotes:
"Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities have crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day;
you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit
to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon - instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.”
- Dale Carnegie
“Whatever your past has been, you have a spotless future.”
- Melanie Gustafson
“A cynic is not merely one who reads bitter lessons from the past; he is one who is prematurely disappointed in the future.”
- Sydney J. Harri
"I try to learn from the past, but I plan for the future by focusing exclusively on the present. That's where the fun is."
- Donald Trump
