Language Fun + Flower Pics

I've been slacking in learning Finnish lately and the training at the hotel doesn't really help much with my Finnish skills 'coz I spend most of my time cleaning alone. Sometimes there's somebody else that helps me, but then more often than not, we clean different rooms. Lately I've been picking up a Finnish novel that I'd started reading a few months ago.

Here is the conversation that happened on Sunday.

Me: "Honey, what's the meaning of this sentence: 'Bla bla bla?'."
R2: "What do you mean?"
Me: "What do you mean by that? I just wanted to know the meaning of the sentence!!!!"
R2: "What do you mean?"
Me: "Oh dear...what do you mean 'what do you mean?'?"
R2: "That's the meaning of the sentence. 'What do you mean?'"
Me: "Ooopppssss. Sorry. I thought you were asking me a question instead of answering it."

Anyway, here are some flower pics from my MIL's garden. I don't know the names of these flowers, so if you do know them, please let me know he he...

Note: This post is written using Blogger Draft, so if I haven't had time to blog-hop, I'm going to do so during the weekend, OK?

  1. yes, you have my blessing NOT to blog hop (hehehe)
    nice, pretty pictures.

I have a question, do you know if the language the speak in Iceland is similar to Finnish??

  2. Ha ha... That was funny! I had a teacher in elementary school and her name was 'Nama', which means 'name' in English. So, it was so confusing she first introduced herself to the pupils. :D

  3. Time to watch more finnish movies then :-)

  4. That's a cute story Amel. Love the photos of the flowers, very pretty.

  5. Vince: I had to browse to find out he he...Actually the language they speak in Iceland is a North Germanic language and it's similar to Faroese, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish.

Choc Mint Girl: Oh dear...indeed I can imagine the confusion he he he...

WaterLearner: Well, watching regular TV shows also helps 'coz then I get to read Finnish subtitle. :-D

Fish: Glad you liked the story and the pics. :-D

Rita: Another one? WOW!!! KIITOS paljon! :-D

  6. Hello again,

LOL LOL LOL Amel...you and R2 are cute.

Beautiful flowers, but I do not know their names either *embarrassed face*! I am not much of a flower gal, as you know lol.

LOL don't worry about blog-hopping...do it whenever you can ;).

    Have a great week ahead!
