Inflammation

I have several reasons why I haven't been blogging, but the latest reason is that I've been having trouble with my wrist/hand/arm. First there was ganglion cyst, but it disappeared on its own after some rest and after I started wearing a thumb/wrist stabiliser at work. The stabiliser helped me at work, but apparently my wrist hasn't completely healed yet as the inflammation flared up again. So now I'm again banned from doing anything strenuous. Not sure how long it's going to take. I guess it's going to take as long as it takes. Definitely bad timing for me to have a long sick leave at work since it's near Christmas, but it's not that I want to experience something like this.

The doc prescribed me a stronger dose of pain killer last Friday, but after taking two pills I had a allergic reaction to it, so I stopped taking it immediately. The pain has subsided a lot now, but I still don't dare do anything strenuous as the doc told me that I could only start gentle stretches in a week.

This problem has made me realized just how often we rely on using our fingers/wrist/hand movements each day. And it also makes me feel awed at those people who've managed to live their lives with less limbs (or even without limbs).

OK, time for me to rest up my hand again. I made this with an app on my mobile, so the quality of the photo was reduced a lot, but anyway, just want to show you a lovely pink sky that I saw sometime last week. This is a photo of semi-frozen river downtown.

3BT: Random Days

1. Had a lovely Indian head massage for free because MIL bought me a voucher for that as a Christmas gift. Bless her and the masseuse!

2. Walking back home from the massage with stars twinkling above me and snow particles twinkling below my feet. Dark blue sky in the background and snowy trees. This is such a beautiful place!

3. Making this dessert, though I modified the recipe a little. :-D

4. Watching this brilliant ice skating performance:

5. Watching some beautiful sky when the temperature was cold outside (the purplish photos were taken on Sat at -27'C and the pinkish sky photos were taken on Sunday at -30'C).

6. Compiling four video clips into one:

Pastel-Coloured Sky

Been busy at work 'coz we haven't got new workers coming in after two of them had ended the contract (they had to continue their studies) and one of us has been sick. I DO hope that new workers will come to help us soon 'coz if not, we'll experience burn-out in no time. Anyhow, the other day I was lucky enough to be able to witness SUCH gorgeous pastel-coloured sky.

All these photos were taken on Tuesday, Jan 25th at around 3 pm with my mobile (so the quality isn't as good but you get the idea). The temperature was around -20'C at that time and the sun had been shining beautifully earlier --- the pics were taken just about the time when the sun was about to set.

Below ar the pics where you can see the gradation of the pastel-coloured sky: first baby blue, then pink, then light blue. For some reason the camera converted the light blue into light grey, but the actual colour is more similar to the light blue in the first pic.

I'll blog-hop later on when I have time, maybe next week when I have some days off. Until then, take care, people!!!

3BT: Random Days

1. No mosquitoes nor ants nor flies (they appear only outside in summer, but due to our short summer, that means we're free of them most of the time YAHOOOOO!!!).

2. Colder weather means that I get to see beautiful skies like these (it was around -12'C):

3. Making cookies and decorating them for the first time in my life (the K and M are the initials of my in-laws):

4. Hubby - for being who he is, for his willingness to drink the Chinese herbs that taste and smell so awful (he has such a sensitive nose). I'm grateful for his support and effort - and thankful that he makes me laugh even when I don't feel like laughing.

5. The last batch of Christmas presents has come through mail and I went to get it today. Now everything is ready. I even bought a little something for myself HO HO HO HO HO...

6. This morning I found out that I just sold one product in Zazzle. My first sold product!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!! That really brightened up my day! I should add more products to my store soon! ;-D THANK YOU, buyer, whoever you are!!!

7. We've booked a spring trip (R2 still has a week off winter holiday and he has to take it before May), so we're going to have another honeymoon in Crete next April HO HO HO HO...

8. I'm thankful for our health, our warm apartment, our warm bed, our fully-stocked fridge, R2's permanent job.

9. I'm thankful for having close friends and close blogger friends. I wouldn't be able to make it without them. ;-D

3BT: Random Days

1. Having warm-hearted in-laws that always accept me as who I am and they never make me feel like a stranger. They never get involved in our affairs and they always accept our visits lovingly and warmly. I LOVE the homey atmosphere I always feel when I'm there. The house is never filled with angry voices or criticism. Instead, it's filled with laughter and comfort.

2. Having a hubby that never raises his voice at me. This morning before he left for his trip (I was still sleeping - BLESS him for accepting me for who I am!!!), he left me a love note. It's been a while since he did that and I was secretly hoping that I'd get one this morning...and I DID!!!!!! HURRAHHHH!!! ;-D

3. A few times hubby warmed my foot up with his big hand (my shoe size is only 35-36) when he realizes that it's rather cold. Mmmmm...I LOVE it when he does things for me when I don't ask him to do!!!

4. My own family (my parents and brother and his wife) always support me. My Mom even supported our going to Singapore even though that meant that our time together in Bandung would be shorter. What would I do without them, without her?

5. Found out from Mom when I called her yesterday that my brother's wife's Dad has volunteered to take us to one mall in Bandung at around 4 am later on to catch the bus to go Cengkareng Airport when it's time for us to go to Singapore. He's not even my Dad, but he volunteers to do it for us???????? GOD BLESS THAT MAN AND HIS FAMILY!!! My brother's LUCKY to have in-laws like that!!!

6. Missing hubby. It is good that he's away like this for one day...so tomorrow I can run to the door and shower him with kisses and wag my tail HE HE HE hE HE HE HE...

7. Hearing birds chirping loudly outside this morning. The sound was so loud and clear.

8. Excitement to meet my family, my friends, and (hopefully) my Singaporean blogger friends SOON HO HO HO HO HO HO...And excitement to eat Asian food again, of course. Yum yummmm...Foodvaganza, here I come!!!!!!!!!! ----> The other day when I was rather stressed, I didn't feel excited, I just wanted to stare at the floor all day and do nothing hi hi hi...that's why I count "excitement" as a beautiful thing he he...

9. Sauna on a cold night (it was 0'C already yesterday when we got back from Kelujärvi).

10. Since it was already so cold, the sky shown beautiful pink color near the horizon...mmm...I LOVE staring at that type of sky. Wish someday I could capture the moment with my camera, though photos won't do any justice to its beauty.

11. Anticipating some kind of spa activity either in Bandung or Singapore. OH OH OH I MISS having a massage!!! Especially a side-by-side massage with hubby ho ho ho ho ho...
