Why, Birdie, Why?

I worked on Fri and Saturday, so didn't have much time to do anything else, especially 'coz yesterday we went straight to my in-laws after I got back from work. In Kelujärvi where my in-laws live, there were so many young birdies flying about - but some of those unexperienced baby birdies flew SO fast and banged themselves against the windows. I saw two of them flew again right after they banged themselves on some window - the "collision" was hard enough that I could actually hear the noise, you know?

One time MIL was worried after we heard the bang on the window, so she and I went out to find out if it had lived or not ('coz we didn't see it fly back up). It was lying on the ground under the window...good thing the grass was tall and thick, so it provided a cushion after the fall, but still it was such a loud bang that the little birdie must have at least been seeing stars.

MIL picked it up to check on it and it was screaming as she did so - probably afraid that we might do something bad to it or something. Here are some pics that I took:

MIL held it for a while and then decided to try to put it on a pole to see if it would fly, but alas...it fell down again, but don't worry, as I said the grass was thick, so it wasn't a painful fall. I was going to lift it up again from the grass, but then it finally FLEW!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!! Mission accomplished! The birdie probably just needed some time to recover from the shock. MIL was worried that if it couldn't fly again, some big bird would eat it. Yeah, the law of nature is brutal.

Anyhow, I was SHOCKED to see that the chye sim seeds that I planted on Thursday have germinated already!!! Here are two pics of them:

WHOOPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Hope they continue growing well. Now I'll blog-hop a little. Tomorrow I've gotta work again (morning shift), so hopefully I can sleep early tonight 'coz if I lack sleep or am too tired, it's gonna be hard to concentrate on telling the customers in Finnish how much they have to pay ha ha ha ha...

Oh yeah, but first two last pics of my other plant that I wasn't sure would actually germinate...Nemophila Maculata or Baby Blue Eyes or Five Spot or Täpläsievikki in Finnish. There are no flowers yet, but they are growing pretty well, I think. I forgot when I planted the seeds - must be about a month ago. Can't wait to see the flowers!!! (hope they'll produce flowers for me!!!)

New Header + 3BT

Yeah, been tinkering with new header designs and I came up with this one. The background was created by Alevtina Design, the butterflies were taken from Debra Anderson Designs and the flower image on the upper right corner of my header was designed by Carola Okeke/FWTS. So THANK YOU to all of them!!!

The flower pictures themselves are all my photos, of course he he he...now that summer's here, I thought it'd be nice to change the header once in a while. Hope you like my new summery header!

**************************

OK, here's my 3BT list:

1. This morning when I woke up I wanted to jump in joy 'coz I saw one little bud coming out in a pot. I almost thought that I had killed all the seeds 'coz the temperature had been so cold. Last night I was just thinking that perhaps they wouldn't germinate at all, so maybe I should use the pot to plant other seeds. Of course until now there's only one tiny bud coming out, but that's better than nothing, right? HE HE HE...Here's the pic of the bud (this is the seed of a climbing plant):

2. Seeing more buds coming out of the pot filled with seeds of chives. YEEEAAAHHHH!!!

3. Having "FUN" in sauna again after we played Wii on Wednesday. Oh yeahhh!!! *wink wink*

4. Having cleaned all the windows on the first floor (remember there are double windows everywhere, but I'm not in a hurry anyway).

5. Holding hands with hubby and listening to his heartbeat. Thump, thump, thump...the precious sign of life...

6. Music. Listening to music is really relaxing.

7. Chatting with different friends around the world. ;-D

8. Watering the plants while listening to birds singing outside. Mmmm...what a life!!!

3BT: Random Days

1. After accidentally banging my head to a cabinet in the kitchen, I ran to hubby and told him what happened and he kissed and rubbed the pain away HO HO HO HO...Yeah, I CAN be a spoilt girl!!! *cheeky grin*

2. The look on my MIL's face when she told me the story of how she met my FIL (yeah, still the look of a woman in love). They met 49 years ago and have been married for over 47 years now.

3. Practising my Finnish as I told my MIL so many stories. Go, Amel, go!!!

4. Progress. Looking back on the past and comparing them with the present gives me a boost of encouragement. 1,5 years ago after I started learning Finnish on my own for a while, I tried reading very easy children's books (with more pictures than texts) but the progress was VERY VERY slow (it took an hour just to understand fully the text on one page).

These days if I really spend time to read regular children's books (with more texts than pictures), I can move forward MUCH faster (esp. if the story interests me, then I can read more pages each day - but of course I still need to use my dictionary).

5. Now that most of the snow has melted away from many parts of downtown, I can try strengthening my legs by using gear 2, 3 or even 4 when riding my bike. WOOOHOOO!!!

6. Buying more flower seeds for my MIL and seeing some of them being grown inside the house (it's not safe to put them outside yet) makes me feel EXCITED!!! Gonna take LOTS of pics of her flowers again later on!!!

7. Last night hubby didn't play any computer games with his friends after we went back home from my in-laws. Instead he watched a movie with me. :-D

8. Telling hubby that I'm such a LUCKY girl to have him in my life. :-D

One Blessing Untold

Oh dear...in my hurry I forgot to add this one to my 3BT post. Last Saturday when we went to my MIL's place, she told me with a joyful glimmer in her eyes that she was knitting house slippers for me. She showed me a pair of house slippers that were finished already, but she quickly added, "These are NOT for you. These are just for practise. I'll make you a pair of prettier house slippers."

Awwwwwwwwww...she's just SO sweet!!! I was once thinking of learning how to knit, but then again if I am able to knit, I'll rob her joys of being able to give me something she knits herself. Hmmm...well, we'll see. Maybe someday I'll learn how to knit, too he he...

Meanwhile, there are now plenty seeds of different types of being sold online since spring is coming soon and I'm thinking of buying some flower seeds for her. After all, she has a green thumb (unlike me, who keeps on killing plants!!!). If you're reading this, Arttu's brother, DO NOT tell Mom about this, okay? Just keep quiet as I want to surprise her he he he he...

Okay, soon Arttu will be home, so I'd better eat first before we go do some more stuff in our new apartment then. I miss blog-hopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I don't want to blog-hop in a rush and write my comments in a rush, so see you after we move, okay?

Hope you're all in good shape and you have your peace of mind!!! Spring, here we come!!!!

Down and Out

Hi, everybody!

How was your holiday? Mine was chock-full of R & R (Rest and Rest). I caught some of hubby's viruses and it made me feel SO tired all the time. I didn't have any fever, but my nose was blocked and I could feel my throat getting weirder and weirder. Plus I'm near my period, so that was an added factor towards my fatigue.

On Friday we went to my in-laws and I brought my "weird" chocolate cake. Sorry to say that it didn't turn out too good, though the taste was OK he he he...Turned out that mom-in-law had bought a strawberry cake for Arttu, so in the end we got to eat two types of cake. When I'm really fit later on, I really should burn the fat by kicking some "invisible" asses (read: doing Taebo kicks) HE HE HE HE HE...

Then as usual we went to sauna and sauna really made me feel GOOD...and sleepy. I took a nap right away after that. I must say that ever since I caught some viruses, I had been sleeping like a dead fish. I TRULY hope that tomorrow I'm 100% okay since I really need to focus on my course again.

So that's why I haven't been blog-hopping or blogging. I'll resume my blogging activities again tomorrow. Now I need to study a bit since I hadn't been studying much at all due to my condition. I'm GLAD that I've had a long holiday to recuperate, though. After all, it'll be DOUBLY bad if I get sick during course days he he he he...

I gave my mom-in-law some flower seeds and she looked delighted. She said that she'd plant them in spring he he he...

Hope you've had MORE FUN during this Easter holiday. I'd have wanted to go mini-skiing, but maybe next time. My brother-in-law asked me if we wanted to tag along with him, his girlfriend and daughter, but I said that I should take a rain check on that offer.

Take care, everybody!!!
