There's magic in the air when someone says something to you that touches you so deep inside, like a miraculous salve soothing the hidden wound in your heart that you didn't even know existed. And then all of a sudden you feel the warmth bursting forth from that spot, spreading out to your entire body and soon tears stream down your face even before you realize what's going on. There's magic in the air when a squirrel stares at you inquisitively with its cute little eyes and bushy little tail from less than two metres away, both of you wondering what the other is thinking about.
There's magic in the air when you plan to go somewhere and then your trip coincides with some big events that make you feel giddier with excitement, especially because you didn't plan your trip knowing about them, yet at the same time you just happened to find out about those events not long before your trip started. There's magic in the air when the night starts getting darker again and the street lights are on again after many nights of Midnight Sun. And the leaves start changing colours step by step as the air gets cooler. There's magic in the air when you are doing a monologue in front of someone, pretending to be yourself and that person (voicing the monologue in your character and that person's character) and not scare that person away. There's magic in the air when two people say the exact same thing at the exact same time and ended up laughing together. Bliss!
Some of you might know already that my Dad's being treated in a hospital. He's doing much better now and it seems that he can go back home on Saturday. I'll keep you updated. I was surprised when I got an SMS last Sunday from my Mom, telling me that my Dad was taken to hospital 'coz his whole body was cold.
About a few months ago, finally my family succeeded in making him go for a full check-up and at that time it was found out that his heart wasn't that good anymore, so since then he's been taking heart medication. So I guess that was why they took him to the hospital - 'coz they were afraid it was a heart attack.
Due to my Dad's type 2 diabetes, he can't feel anything much anymore (in terms of pain), so my family has the heavy task of being alert whenever he looks unwell. The doctor told my family that my Dad suffered from an early heart attack and that the heart was swollen so much, so he had to stay in the hospital for a few days.
My doctor friend told me that my Dad's heart's function will never get any better, so the only thing we can do is just try to keep his condition stable, even though it IS hard to do 'coz my Dad is stubborn and it's tough to tell him to be careful with what he eats. But anyway...to be honest I felt a bit guilty for not being able to take turns in taking care of my Dad, but then again guilt won't enable me to do more for him, will it?
And at least my family does NOT make me feel guilty for living so far away, so I'm thankful for that. I'm also THANKFUL for all the prayers and support that I've got through Facebook. HIGHLY appreciated!!!
Anyway, what about "lazy feet"? Well, yesterday I went to my friend's place on foot (she lives about 3 km away from our place) 'coz R2 promised to pick me up after work. I had NOT been walking such a distance for a LONG time 'coz I've always been riding my bike, so it felt like such a long journey 'coz it took at least twice as long to reach the place he he he he...Lazy feet!!! Spoiled feet!!! But it was good to walk that distance, though.
OK, I'll blog-hop a little. Been busy again with work and other things.
On Saturday I took a video clip of downtown Sodankylä, especially the main street he he he...and I tinkered with it a bit. I managed to add some music (since my microphone doesn't work anymore, so I can't record any sound or voice) and a little bit of info about the places there. You can see one part of the river which pics you loved so much from my previous post. However, make sure you brighten up your monitor since I took the video when it was around 8 pm, so it's a little bit dark ha ha ha ha ha...
In the video clip you can see how "small" Sodankylä is HA HA HA HA HA HA...
The song is "Will You Be There (In The Morning)?" by Heart. Enjoy the video clip!!!
Do you know anyone who has mitral valve problem? Even if you don't know someone who has such a problem, I've found a website where you can find info about mitral valve disorders. I sure do hope that nobody I know has this kind of problem, since it sounds so serious as it involves the valve that pumps to the left ventricle of our heart. If the valve doesn't close well, blood will flow into our lungs. If the valve doesn't open well, then blood can't flow well from the lungs to the rest of our body parts.
The website provides information about mitral valve repair as well as mitral valve surgery. After all, it's much better not to undergo a surgery if you can avoid it, don't you think so? And do you know that there's now alsoa videoscopic minimally invasive mitral valve repair? This is a much better option for patients as their breastbone doesn't have to be cut open to repair the valve. If you're wondering about this procedure, just click on one of the links!
On a last note, I hope that all of us stay healthy so that we don't have to go through any repair or surgery procedure! Cheers to health! :-)))
