Reactions

Been SO busy with work and everything else. A coworker has resigned after taking some sick leave for a few weeks and then two more coworkers are sick this week, so we're three people down and it's been quite rough because it's summer and thankfully our store has been very busy (busier than last year! Even a summer coworker who worked last year noticed the difference), but that means that our work pace has been very very hectic. I'm really looking forward to our holiday and I also hope we can get a new steady coworker soon to replace the one that left, because at this rate we're all going to be too exhausted.

I've been having trouble with some mosquito bites. They're getting redder and bigger. The worst one has grown into about 1.5 x 3 cm long with a watery bump at one part. Ugh...it was painful yesterday and very very itchy (not so bad today). Actually I'm not sure if they're only bitten by mosquitoes because at that time there were other smaller, more invisible bugs as well. Because I sweat a lot at work and I have to wear work jeans, I think they also keep on grazing those bites and make them even worse, so today I went to the health care centre and was told to keep spreading a thick layer of hydrocortisone cream and taking antihistamine this week, but if they got worse I should come back there. Let's see how it goes...

I had one of the worst PMS symptoms the other week. I almost blew up in fume twice at work (imagine Donald Duck's red face whenever he gets SO angry), but thankfully I managed to stop myself and calm myself down in between. Phew! Exercising at home helped pump up some endorphins. One day I was very tired and grumpy and it was my day to exercise, but I managed to force myself to do it even though I didn't feel like it. And as usual, I felt much better afterwards (pat myself on the back) he he...

Yesterday was also my exercise day, but I skipped because I had had trouble sleeping during the night because of the itch, so I took some anthistamine after work and then fell asleep for a few hours. And still during the night I could go to bed in time. This time around I went to the pharmacy to buy another type of antihistamine that won't make me feel sleepy, because the last time around I was still so tired at work because I had a very early shift. Anyway, my silent relief from the stress and hectic pace at work is the countdown to our holiday. I really really need it and I've promised myself I'm going to have a full body massage at least three times during our holiday he he he he...Hubby once joked, "Only three times? Why not every day?" Yeah, right LOL!!!!

3BT: Random Days

1. Having to wear a uniform to work (the top and jacket provided by work) and not having to wonder about what to wear. Only need to invest on dark-coloured pants (no need to wear any skirt 'coz it's just not practical for my kind of work - a treat for a tomboy like me!).

2. Hubby's "sunbathing" sleeping pose. Sometimes I go to bed later than he does and then I get to see him lie on his back with both hands under his head. SO CUTE!!!!

3. Scratching hubby's head (giving him a sort of gentle head massage) and hearing him "purr" in delight ha ha ha...

4. Dealing with a past "ghost" once and for all and facing it face forward without shoving it to the back of my mind anymore.

5. Realizing even more now how perfect the timing of FIL's passing, because it coincided with BIL's and my holiday, so I could spend more time with MIL without any distraction during the first week, which was probably the toughest for her.

6. My boss and coworkers who don't treat me differently because I'm a foreigner. I'm VERY THANKFUL for this.

7. My period is finally here, so I can say goodbye to my mellow mood earlier due to PMS HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...

8. Watching these talented kids and thinking how much time they must've spent practicing. I salute them and wish them a beautiful future.

Tag: Six Things

M. Frost has tagged me to list 6 things that are unimportant but they make me happy...let's see what I have in mind he he he...

1. Cooking together with hubby.

2. The smell of the sun on my pillows.

3. Being scratched (esp. all over my back) and tickled (esp. all over) by hubby.

4. During PMS, crying my eyes out when watching something.

5. Eating something I've been craving for a long while and it tastes exactly the way I want it to be. Oh my goodness!!!!!!!

6. Full-body massage.

6. Being able to take clear, close-up pics of wild animals in nature.

Because I'm not going to tag anyone, let me carry on with more things I can think of HA HA HA HA HA...Greedy me!!!

7. Saying the exact same thing with hubby at the exact same time ---> and it always makes us both laugh HO HO...

8. Buying something I've been wanting to buy and finding it on a HUGE discount (and feeling glad that I didn't just buy it at the usual price).

9. Tickling hubby and watching him try to withstand the agony without scratching himself as long as possible hi hi hi hi hi...And then watching his relief after he scratches himself. :-D And watching him beg for more (not with words, but with his facial expression) HA HA HA HA HA...

10. Hiding behind the door when hubby opens it to spook him and hear him growl 'coz it works!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA...

11. Looking at old photos.

12. Rereading old emails (esp. love emails), old letters, and old cards HE HE HE HE...

13. The smell of fresh grass.

14. Riding a bike on a long stretch of road without any intersection (so I don't have to stop for anything). :-D

15. Being in an apartment without any roaches, ants, mice, and flies.

16. Not having to iron any clothes (I've never ironed any clothes ever since I moved to Finland!).

17. Reading good jokes (the kind of jokes that makes me laugh till my belly hurts).

18. Being able to hang our clothes in the bathroom and knowing that the next day they'll be dry (not having to worry whether it's going to rain or not - in Indo, my parents have to hang the clothes to dry outside).

19. Being able to drink straight from tap water where I can get cold water, warm water, and even hot water (in Indo, can't get warm or hot water from taps and definitely can't drink tap water).

20. I can leave potato chips in a big bowl for days without worrying that they'll lose their crispiness (if you leave potato chips like that in Indo, in less than a few hours they'll turn soft.)

OK, I think this is long enough, don't you think? I haven't packed yet and before we fly on Sunday, I have to clean up the place so that when we get back home, we can just go straight to bed...I mean to sleep, of course HE HE HE HE HE HE...

Happiness Revisited

The other day Shan wrote in a comment that he was wondering why I could manage to stay happy. He jokingly asked if that was partly because of my hubby. Well, first of all, it's IMPOSSIBLE for any person to make somebody else happy 24/7 every day of their lives. Secondly, there haven't been any bad situations in my life (yet, hopefully never HA HA)...and thus it's easier to stay happy. Thirdly, it's not that I never feel unhappy or sad or angry or disappointed.

It's okay to be sad. It's okay to feel sorrow. It's okay to feel bad every now and then. It's okay to feel angry. It's okay to feel disappointed. Hey, life isn't constant and nobody's perfect! We're only humans, not robots. You're bound to feel all those sort of emotions, especially when a tragedy strikes unexpectedly.

What's not okay is to wallow in those emotions and let yourself pity yourself or let yourself become so engulfed in emotions that turn you into a negative, bitter, angry person. I know it's easier said than done, but one can only try and I'm determined to try my best in doing so. :-))))

Of course it gets tough to stay happy when my PMS strikes or when I lack sleep (I get cranky when I lack sleep and I CAN be "bitchy" too), but let's share with one another some happiness tips, shall we? I know that you all know what I'm going to share already, but I'm going to write them down to remind myself of the tips to be happy he he he he...

You can write them down in your own posts or in my comment section of this post. Either way it's fine, but I LOVE the blogosphere since we can learn SO MUCH from one another and we can keep reminding one another about making a difference in this world. :-)))

OK, without further ado, here're some tips from me:

1. Accepting the things we can't change (AKA surrendering to God and believing that He knows best whatever comes our way even when we don't understand it),

2. Having the courage to change the things we can change (AKA we have to do our own part and not just surrender to God without doing anything and finding out what bad habits or mistakes we should change),

3. Remembering to count your blessings every single day AND soak them all in and NOT taking anything small for granted ('coz it'll make you feel like the world is singing with you),

4. Accepting yourself as you really are and being able to forgive others and yourself,

5. Being able to understand that God's grace is beyond our imperfections (AKA knowing our worth in God and believing that we CAN make a difference through Him that strengthens us AKA not giving up on ourselves and beating ourselves up),

6. Not taking life too seriously and not taking other people's words too seriously and NOT taking yourself too seriously,

7. Expect less and give more,

8. And knowing that each day you're in charge of your own actions and reactions towards your circumstances instead of letting circumstances determine your actions and reactions.

Well, that's all I can remember for now he he he...Come on now, people, share with me some of your wisdom! ;-D

Women Talk

Well, this is an update on my condition after stopping the birth control pills. I was actually expecting my period to be erratic during the first few months after stopping the pills, but turned out that my period came pretty much on time and it was LIGHT, too (no stomach cramps whatsoever). YIIIIIIIHAAAAAA!!!!

I used to have SUCH heavy periods during my teenage years that I kept on producing a huge blood spot at the back of my skirt (we wore uniforms at school). I hated that so much since it was embarrassing. Plus back then I think the sanitary pads weren't too highly absorbent and they weren't winged. I LOVE winged sanitary pads!!! They're really amazing he he he he...plus these days they are really MUCH thinner than what they used to be.

Funny thing was that I began to feel PMS more than when I was still taking the birth control pills. Or maybe another cause is that I've been busier these days and when I get tired, it's easy for me to be cranky. I'm SO grateful that my hubby isn't someone who's easily angered or upset. However, I promise myself that I'd do anything within my power to control myself when PMS hits me he he he...

I must say, though, that I don't really like making love with condoms, but what more can I say? I don't want to be pregnant yet since I want to go to Indonesia first after my course is finished, so I just have to bear it until then and I'm looking forward to the days without condoms. ;-D

One thing about PMS...I'd LOVE it if men can undergo just one day when PMS hits a woman so badly...maybe then they'll understand better what's going on he he he he...because honestly speaking, it's really indescribable sometimes. Funny thing is that I had been PMS free during my pill days. Weird, isn't it? Strange but true he he he...

Anyway, I SALUTE men who put up with women during their PMS days and don't make silly jokes about it and don't say anything negative about it. :-D
