Infection

Been busy at work again and battling some viruses/bugs. Some coworkers have gotten sick, as well, and now it's my turn. I tried to avoid getting sick, but couldn't help it. The other day what made me worried was that it was getting a bit heavy to breathe. Luckily work covers me to go to a clinic instead of the local health centre, so I didn't have to wait too long. The last time my husband went to see the doc, he had to wait 2-3 hours because there were lots of emergencies. I could even book my appointment online without having to make any phone call (such a bliss for an introvert like me!). The only problem is that it's not open during the weekend, but other than that it's very handy to go there.

So apparently I'm down with some kind of infection of the upper respiratory tract. Been taking it easy, though sleeping a lot can be a little problematic. For some weird reason I've been waking up so early (4 am) and then it takes time before I can go back to sleep again. Duh!

They say that it's particularly bad this year when it comes to viruses/illness/getting sick due to the mild winter. I read in FB that there are lots of sick people down south as well (mostly flu). It's a bit hard to believe that it's already almost mid March. Where did time go?

Last night I was thinking to myself that I had consciously and subconsciously chosen the right man to marry. The conscious ones were obvious from the start, but the subconscious reasons have only started to appear to the surface much later (during the course of our living together). It's fascinating when the subconscious reasons started popping out here and there, making me understand everything even better. I cherish the moment when I feel that I can see things more clearly (or at least more clearly than before). :-)

Anyway, during one of my off days I accidentally found this epic song online and I just love it so much. When I first listened to it for the first time, I was thinking how awesome it must've been to work together to create this kind of music. Mmmmm...If you're listening to the song, how does it make you feel? For some reason whenever I listen to this song, I feel invincible he he he he...

Autumnal Bugs

I've been busy with work after the holiday was over and then I got sick. I'm still not feeling 100% well yet, but I'm gradually getting better. It's the usual time of the year for me to catch viruses. Ugh!!!

Anyhow, I still have some more holiday posts, but that have to wait until later 'coz my brain's still a bit murky (if I can call it that). At the moment, though, I'm trying to rest while watching X-factor videos on youtube ha ha...

And this one touched me in so many different levels, so hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!!! There are so many other auditions that also wowed me, but this one stays close in my heart. :-))))

Go Away Bugs!

Dang, I feel like I'm going to have a cold or something. There've been some viruses going around here and my best friend in Sodankylä has been down with it. Yesterday when I went to work, my coworker started losing her voice and I felt a bit of a headache when it was near closing time. Ugh...today I let myself sleep so long (12 hours) - even though it felt as though it wasn't enough still and if I had let myself, I would have been sleeping still. I'm drinking some vitamin now and I hope I won't catch any viruses.

Our New Year's eve was spent at my in-laws' place again. R2, MIL, and I played cards until about 2 am. I did go outside a bit to see some fireworks at around midnight, but didn't manage to take any good pics of them. We went there cycling, so we went back home cycling again.

When it comes to FIL - I guess there are good days and bad days. Sometimes he remembers MIL, sometimes not. But these days he sometimes uses the kind of cup that babies use before they start learning to drink from a regular glass, so it breaks my heart to see him like that and I can see that it's getting harder and harder for him to move (the body gets so stiff nowadays). But I salute MIL for having taken care of him with such patience and love...that's really what you call "loving in good times and bad times, in sickness and in health". For those who are praying, keep on praying for MIL so that she gets all the strength, patience, love, and comfort that she needs.

Anyway, let me continue with the photo shoots in Rovaniemi...

1st pic: Taken at around 10 am before the sun showed up above the trees.

2nd pic: I posted this pic also in FB and someone said the tree looked like a monster hi hi hi hi hi...

All the pics below were taken at around midday. Any fave pic?

OK, now I'm going to browse around for a little bit before going to work. Good thing we have a national holiday on 6th. YAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!!! Take care, people, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Found It Online!!!

In relation to my earlier post, last night I browsed for Dean Koontz' books online and found one paperback book in Finnish that cost only around €7, so I'm going to order it for my hubby as a Christmas gift. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!!! I'm SO HAPPY HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...

Yesterday hubby came home and I realized he wasn't as jovial as usual. Turned out he wasn't feeling too good, and I think I've caught some of his viruses. Last night I decided to sleep longer than usual to gain more strength as I had begun to feel a slight headache during the night. Now headache's gone but I'm still going to drink my vitamin C.

Good news is that there's a group of people interested in opening a project for immigrants in this village. They're going to interview us to find out about our situation, our future plans, problems, and what they expect from the project. I honestly don't know what to expect from them, but since they're interested in interviewing foreigners, then I contacted them yesterday. They said that they'd call me to set up an interview later on. We'll see how it goes.

I've got some bad news about the full-time Finnish course. I THOUGHT it would be for sure that they'd open it. Turned out that it wasn't 100% sure yet...it depends on lots of factors. I don't know yet if they're expecting to get a certain number of students or not, but the fact that it's full-time means that some of us can't do it after all. It seems to me that there are only about 3 people so far who can make it full-time. My Brit friend can't do it full-time as she has her own home business to take care of.

I asked my closest friends to pray for this...one of them said this, "I will, but just remember that sometimes when God closes one door, it's for your own good. He will make everything work out for your own good." Ahhhh...such a breath of fresh air. Sometimes I'm too caught up with my own plans so that I forget that His plans are MUCH MUCH MUCH better than mine, whatever they are. Sometimes I wish for something too much that I forget that He can open different doors for me, too, and that maybe He chooses to open other doors for me instead of the one I'm praying for. MANY times I forget to thank Him for closed doors. I'm SO glad I have friends who remind me of these things. ;-D

Okie dokie...now it's time for me to study and in the afternoon I'll bake the apple cake. I'll take a pic of it if it turns out well HI HI HI HI HI HI HI...Have a WONDERFUL weekend, everybody!!!
