Risoles and Nature Pics

Before I start telling you about my day in another post, let me post some other pictures first...As promised, here's a pic of my risoles HE HE HE HE HE HE...so, DROOL, DROOL, please, since it took me 3 hours to make them HA HA HA HA HA...

I took some pics while walking to my Brit friend's house earlier. It took me about 22 minutes to walk there. I was SO HAPPY when I woke up this morning and finding out that the temperature was only around -3/4'C HUE HE HE HE...SO WARM!!! At least compared to -20/24'C the other days he he he he...I dressed up more warmly than I needed to, though...by the time I got there, I was sweating like a pig he he he...It was good exercise! :-D

Next pic: Sodankylä river. I LOVE the place around the river he he he...so I'm sorry if you're bored looking at it HA HA HA HA...

Next pic: The other side of the river. :-))))

Next pic: I TOTALLY FELL IN LOVE with this spot! How about you? ;-D

Next pic: This is the YELLOW SNOW that I mentioned. If you go to a snowy place, NEVER EVER come close to yellow snow, OK? HE HE HE HE HE HE...People walk their dogs and let them pee on the snow he he he...

Last pic: Just a regular view in Finland, but I still find it BEAUTIFULLY SERENE he he he...

3BT: January 8, 2008

1. Finding frozen salmon on sale. It was only about €8.55 per kilogram (normally it would be around €10 and frozen fish is usually around €15-17). I baked it in the oven and it tasted GOOD!!! ;-D This is the FIRST time I could afford buying fish HUE HE HE HE HE HE...so I'm SO HAPPY!!!!!

2. A few seconds ago I received payment already from BuyBlogReviews. What a PLEASANT surprise!!! I wrote my first assignment for them on January 1st, but I got paid already today! I was thinking that I'd only get paid on 15th. THANK YOU SO MUCH, BuyBlogReviews!!!!

3. Making my own risoles - it took me 3 hours. Yes, I'm a slow cook. It took me an hour to make the wrappers - just like regular thin pancakes (flour, baking power, eggs, milk, a pinch of salt). Then it took me another hour to make the filling hi hi hi hi...and to add this and that so that it tasted delicious!!! Then it took another hour to roll them on eggs and bread crumbs and then deep-frying them. But they were SO VERY DELICIOUS!!! This is my first attempt, so I'm SO happy I could make them EXACTLY like I liked them!!! (I'm gonna post the pic later on, OK?)

4. The anticipation rising inside me 'coz I'm going to bring some risoles for my Brit friend tomorrow. I hope she likes it. After all, she likes spicy food and I added some hot chili imported from Holland to the filling HE HE HE HE HE...

5. Being able to play with my Brit friend's pets tomorrow. She has 2 cats, 2 kittens, one puppy, and one dog HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...YAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!!!

My "Worth"

This morning I received something rather intriguing: a form from the Tax Office. My hubby also gets one. In the form it's stated the basic salary, how much taxes we should pay, etc. I was bewildered to get it, since I haven't got a job yet.

Then when hubby got home from work for lunch, I told him about it and he said that it'd be used for when I get a job later on. So if I get a job here, I need to show that form to my employer so that he/she knows how much I should be paid.

Gee...that's interesting!!! So my "worth" has been calculated already by the tax officers even before I get a job?????????

Well, the good thing is that if I get a job later on, I know my "worth" already, so I won't ask for less than that ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...

Anyway, I'm gonna try making risoles soon, and only after that I'm gonna blog-hop...tomorrow I'll be busy 'coz I'll visit my Brit friend, so if tomorrow I'm MIA, don't wonder about it, OK? But I'll be BAAACCKKKK!!!!!! (side note: you have to read it with the same tone of voice as Arnold Schwarzenegger HUA HA HA HA HA HA HA...)

Another Birthday Party to Attend

On Friday there'll be another birthday party to attend as I told you. Pirita's Mom is throwing her 40th birthday party. A few days ago Arttu just told me that it would be a kind of snack potluck party where guests could bring some snack. Gladly he had told me that early so that I could think about what to bring. I asked him if I should bring some sweet or salty snack or appetizer, and he replied that it would probably be better if I could bring something salty.

I thought that it'd be nice to introduce some Indonesian snack HA HA HA HA HA HA...There are several options in my mind: risoles or perkedel (potato cutlets). I've never made risoles before and I know it's a bit complicated to make since I have to prepare so many things, so potato cutlets would be the easier option. However, I'm not going to deep fry them in oil. The healthier version of making potato cutlets would be to bake them in the oven he he he he he...and Arttu LOVED my potato cutlets, so I think I'm going to bake them to bring to the party.

However, I'm also tempted to try making risoles. Risoles are small snacks filled with either beef or chicken fillings with cheese and sometimes a slice of boiled eggs and well, you can add anything you like ha ha ha ha...But what's tough about making it is that I have to make the wrappers first, then the filling, then put the filling in the middle of each wrapper, wrap them, then roll them on white eggs and then roll them on a pile of bread crumbs, THEN deep fry them. Phew!!!

I haven't tried making risoles yet, so I'm kinda craving for them he he he he...Hmmm...maybe I should try making risoles, as well, but only for us and my in-laws HUE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...

Dang, I just made myself HUNGRY!!!! *drool* Anyway, I'd better have lunch first and then blog-hop before I go to the supermarket to buy the ingredients to make the potato cutlets. I wonder how many I should bring, though, since I don't know how many people will be coming to the party. Maybe I'd better send an email to ask them about it. However, I'm sure unlike Indonesian birthday parties, there would probably only be around 10 people max. in the party HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...
