A Funny Incident

The other day I woke up very early due to some shoulder pain/strain that went up to my neck. As I thought I couldn't go back to sleep, I went downstairs to do some gentle neck stretches. However, soon after I got really sleepy again, so I decided to just sleep on the sofa. I closed the blinds and grabbed a blanket and slept with my clothes and socks on (like taking a nap).

Hubby woke me up when he woke up to go to work. He walked round and round the house (from the living room to computer room to kitchen to the coat room back to the living room) while brushing his teeth with an electric brush. The noise from the electric brush was so loud that it woke me up. Unfortunately I had no energy to tell him to stop, so I went back to sleep after he stopped brushing.

After he came back home from work, he confessed that he had not seen me AT ALL while he walked around the rooms like that (during his tooth-brushing session). He only realized I was sleeping there when my alarm beeped and I turned it off (he was in the toilet at that time). I couldn't believe my ears! I told him, "How can you have missed seeing me? I mean, I'm 50 kgs, not just a kilo of meat!"

Anyway, he was so glad that I hadn't said a thing to him at all when he didn't realize I was there (about the loud toothbrush), because if I had said something to him, he may have had a heart attack. To make things worse, he even went near the sofa at one point to open the blinds, so he could have seen me then, but he said I was neatly wrapped under the blanket that he just didn't realized! Goodness!!! It's still an impossible thing to experience, don't you think?

We both had a good laugh at this story, though he he he he he he...and now I know that when he's brushing his teeth in the morning, he goes round and round the connecting rooms HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

The Sound of Waves

They were getting ready for bed and he was fumbling for his mobile phone. He let out a curse, seemingly to have trouble with something on his phone.

She asked, "What's wrong?"

"I need to change my morning alarm sound."

"Oh, why's that?"

"Your sleeping sound has kept me awake."

"My sleeping sound?" she asked, confused.

"Yes, you know that I've been using the sounds of waves to wake me up in the morning and lately your breathing during sleep sometimes resembles the sounds of waves on my mobile phone. So just like last night, I thought I heard the waves, so I woke up and then realized it was your breathing. Went back to sleep and then after a while I woke up again to the sound of the waves, but I realized it was still your breathing."

"Oh my, no wonder you've been tired. Why did you pick that particular sound in the first place then?"

"Because it's the least noisy one. Now I've changed it to the sound of birds chirping."

She laughed. "But what if I end up making sounds like birds chirping in my sleep then?"

"Then I'll just have to change it again."

"Fair enough," she replied.

3BT: Random Days

1. Had another invitation to have a free pap smear test at the local health centre about two months ago and the other week I received the result. Nothing wrong with me. YAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!! Funny that without the test, I wasn't even thinking about the possibility of having any problem down there, but I did get a bit anxious when I opened the result via snail mail.

2. I told hubby that on my free days, I prefer to wake up later and sleep late. He said, "Sleepyhead!"

I retorted, "But it's a good way to spend my free day, don't you think?"

He asked, "Well, in my opinion it's good to spend your free day by doing something that you can't do at work."

I replied, "Yes, I can't sleep at work, so that's one of the things I love doing on my free days. Sleeping in." (roaring with laughter)

Hubby laughed along with me and he couldn't argue back HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

3. Last night hubby went to bed earlier and when I was entering the bedroom, I realized that it was so silent (I suspected that hubby was awake, because otherwise I'd hear his snore) and the second thing I realized was a bad smell. Yep, hubby had farted prior to my coming inside the bedroom. That set me giggling and hubby turned around to hold me and I said, "Honey, this bedroom stinks. Did you fart?" He laughed along with me...Ah, the joys of fart! :-D

Oh, The Little Joys of Life!

A few days ago I had an evening shift and I stayed up late. R2 had to go to sleep right away after I came home from work 'coz he had to go to Rovaniemi the next day. He had to be there already at 8 am (it takes about 1,5 hours to go there by car). I was having too much fun reading a manga series so I just didn't want to stop until the end. When I realized the time, I decided to sleep on the sofa instead 'coz I didn't want to wake R2 up.

However, this time I left him a post-it note, hoping that the journey would go fine and that I wanted him to hug and squeeze me before he left HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...Otherwise he wouldn't have done it 'coz he wouldn't have wanted to wake me up he he...

I woke up twice due to coughing (yeah, there's still some phlegm left, can you believe it?) but then I got right back to sleep. The second time I woke up was when R2 had woken up himself and not long after that he did come to where I was lying down and what delighted me so much was the way he squeezed me (not just once but a few times!). It was as though we hadn't done it in a VERY LONG TIME he he he he...As if he hadn't wanted to be apart from me he he...

Ahhhhhh...BLISS!!!!!!!!!! :-D

P.S. Our wedding anniversary is coming up and usually we spend it in the cabin (either the weekend before or after the date), so we'll see if we can do it or not. I have to make sure R2 isn't on call that weekend. :-D And then I have to make sure that I'll have the full weekend off. :-D But anyway, I can't believe it's going to be our 6th anniversary already!!!!!!!! I really want to keep growing and growing old with him he he he he...

Strange But True

1. Again it happened and I still can't believe it. For two nights when we're apart (hubby's having some kind of computer training in Helsinki), both of us can't sleep well at night...it's frustrating when you have to get up early to work in the morning and you have to concentrate and focus 'coz you're working in an environment when everybody speaks Finnish. If I don't get enough rest, my brain would work VERY slowly and I'd get in trouble. Luckily today I didn't have to be the cashier. Phew!!! Today I helped arrange many things on the display shelves.

I sweat after doing that for 5 hours and got REALLY REALLY hungry he he he...

2. On Tuesday before I go to work (I had an evening shift that day), a little girl (probably around 5 years old) dropped by our place and rang the bell. I opened the door, astonished. Without missing a beat, she asked (in Finnish of course), "Are there any kids in the house?" (obviously she asked that 'coz the ex-home owners haven't taken away their daughter's play cabin and swing set from our garden)

I said, "Unfortunately no."

She asked again, "Are there any kids coming to the house sometimes?"

I said no again.

She then asked, "Do you live alone?"

I said no again and told her that hubby was at work, then out of curiosity, I asked, "Where do you live?" just as she was starting to leave the front door.

You know what she said? She said, "Why do you ask?"

Oh dear!!! She had asked me all those questions and I wasn't allowed to ask her just that question? LOL LOL!!! I was just wondering where she came from, 'coz she obviously walked across our garden from another garden, but I wasn't sure 'coz I didn't follow her as I had to prepare myself to go to work in a few minutes.

P.S. The girl's face looks familiar for some reason...dunno where I've seen her. Maybe in the daycare or some other place, but she was definitely not one of the kids in my class when I was helping out in the daycare.

3. Today at work came an old man and an old woman (not sure if they were husband and wife or not). They then started yelling at each other: the man started it, actually. The old woman had a walking stick and all her hair was white. The man yelled, "Come on, woman, are you going to buy EVERYTHING? The car is waiting outside with the driver. Hurry up and get it done!"

The woman was obviously upset, 'coz she yelled back, "Stop yelling at me! What are you talking about?"

And it kept on going and going and going for at least one minute...I noticed that all the other customers had their heads turned to the couple 'coz those two were just too loud.

Ridiculous! I mean, if he had wanted her to do her shopping fast, why didn't he offer to help her pick the things she needed so that they could get it done, right? After all, as far as I could see, the man didn't have any walking stick and he could walk faster than her. I shook my head in disbelief and just sighed. What a mess!!!

P.P.S. Got a compliment about my Finnish yesterday by one customer. :-D I'm REALLY THANKFUL for everybody who expresses encouraging words towards me, 'coz that really helps me know whether I'm doing the right thing or not (I mean in terms of learning Finnish).

And today I managed to help an old guy find something, although I couldn't help him find another thing that I didn't even know (I had to ask my colleague to help him find that 'coz I didn't really understand what he wanted - there goes to show I still have a LONG way to go with my Finnish, but at least there are always my coworkers to ask for help HA HA HA HA...).

3BT: February 29, 2008

1. Talking to my mother-in-law in Finnish and hearing her say that I had been studying well HE HE HE HE HE...

2. Going back to sleep right next to hubby in the morning. I woke up due to "morning call" and wasn't really planning on going back to sleep since I was wide awake already, but then I went back to bed and fell right back to sleep. SUPERB!!!

3. Taking pictures of the birds outside my in-laws' house. I'm going to post the pictures later.

4. My canker sore or mouth ulcer has HEALED completely! YAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!

5. The highlight of my day was when hubby went into the bathroom just to check up on me. He was gaming online with his buddies and cousin and I thought that he would be SO focused on his game that he wouldn't even notice anything much around him. I was wrong!!!

I went to the bathroom to take some pictures in the sauna and he was confused when he realized that I wasn't in front of my computer and I wasn't in the bedroom hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi...
