A Tag: True Love

Crystal tagged me to do this interesting meme, so here goes while I have enough time to blog HA HA HA HA HA...

Here are the rules:

*Copy the questions and answer them honestly.

1> What does true love mean to you?
This is tough as love has so many meanings. For me personally, true love means that you always think of the other person's sake before your own. True love means that you strive to love even when the other person's not really easy to love.

2> How do you know you're really in love?
First of all usually it starts with the butterfly-in-the-stomach feeling, then the heart feels like bursting out of its chest and I want to scream out my love for him so that the whole world knows about it he he he...Then it grows steadily into the need to get to know that person as deeply as possible and then it grows into commitment to love that person despite himself.

3> How many times in your life have you fallen in love?
Hmmm...I've experienced infatuation around 4 times, then I fell mildly in love once, then I was infatuated once more, then I have been falling in love with my hubby. :-)))

4> Have you ever fallen out of true love because you were mad at the moment?
When it comes to hubby: I don't think so.

5> Do you feel love and physical attraction are the same thing?
Well, when I feel that I love someone so much, usually that also means that I'm physically attracted to that person.

6> If your true love became ill or disfigured would you continue to love them the same way?

Sure. ;-D In sickness and in health, right? ;-D I'd want him to do the same thing if I became ill and disfigured he he he...

7> Should anyone else be able to tell you who to love or not love?
They can try HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...but I'm VERY stubborn! *GRIN*

8> Do you believe people that ended up divorced were ever truly in love?
Sure. ;-D Some of them may have mistaken infatuation with love, but that didn't mean that some others didn't fall in love with their spouses prior to their marriages.

9> Would you give up something you want for someone you love?
I guess so.

10> If you truly love someone do you feel it should be unconditional?
Loving someone unconditionally is TOUGH. I think only a parent can do such a thing he he he he he...In a romantic relationship between a guy and a girl, it's not easy to do, because before you commit yourself to someone, you've gotta know that the other person is willing to commit to you and that he or she really cares for you. But then again, it's always good to try to love someone unconditionally provided that you know the boundaries you have to set with each other he he he...

I once read a book on boundaries in a marriage. If your idea of loving unconditionally means that you can never use "tough love", then I don't think it's a correct way of loving someone as it can be destructive.

For example: if one spouse has a bad habit of splurging money, the other one should be able to use "tough love" to help that person improve himself/herself and not try to help him/her out all the time.

Gee...I'm rambling hi hi hi...I guess this is long enough, though.

  1. I agree with your answer for no. 10, Amel. It's quite detailed and I agree that it's hard to love unconditionally unless both parties have the same willingness to commit. :)

You're not the only one who's stubborn, you know! Ha ha ha...
