Day 1 of Training

INTERESTING!!! That's what I can say about being a helper at the library he he he...

First I was introduced to everybody who was there, then I had to wait for my trainer for about 10 minutes. She came and then showed me around the place. She told me about how they organized the shelves and the books on the shelves. Then she told me about the process of putting the books to the shelves: they had to find out what the books were, then they had to put plastic covers and bar code label and some other label. Then they had to register the books to the bar code machine before putting them on the shelves. Old books were put in their small warehouse. It was COOL to know all these things!

My first task was to return the returned books to the shelves. Then I had to organize Christmas books on a special shelf. Then I was told how to use the bar code machine as they took out some old books from the warehouse. Then I was told to stamp plenty of old cassettes with the label "taken out".

So it's been FAR busier than my other two training experiences. I just hope it keeps up he he he he...well, even if I don't have too much to do on other days, I can always read something as they have SO MANY books he he he he...

Anyway, let me share some more pics taken from last weekend!

First pic: this is something I WANT for myself!!! See that red sled where the little girl is sitting? I WANT ONE!!! I want to sit on it and slide down the snowy hill one day he he he...Actually, it's also VERY practical to drag your son/daughter on the sled while going out, unless your kid acts up and runs away HA HA HA HA HA...

Second pic: The Kitinen bridge (near downtown Sodankylä) and its frozen river.

Third pic: These birds are flying around the bridge-river area and then they landed on the frozen river for a little while. It was a BEAUTIFUL sight as they flew here and there together as a group...mmmm...

OK, I'll blog-hop tomorrow as I'm pretty tired now he he he...

The V Word

Warning: MATURE CONTENT!!!

Still want to go on?

YOU ARE WARNED!!!!!!!

Okay...here we go then...

Two nights ago I watched a show on TV about women who seek professional help in terms of their sexual life. They visit a well-known masturbation coach in America.

Anyway, one woman who comes from the UK hasn't made love to her husband for 10 years to due pain. She's gone to MANY MANY doctors who say that the pain is all in her mind. So as a last resort, she comes to this coach. The coach talks to her and then she finds out that she can't complete the session due to PAIN, PAIN, PAIN. A simple touch makes her grit her teeth in pain. The coach asks her if that happens whenever she makes love and she says yes. Mind you that she's got a teenage daughter already! Anyway, the coach then asks what happens then during making love. She says that she always has to endure the pain by grabbing a pillow or stifle her screams.

Uggghhhh...the coach says, "No wonder you're abstain from sex for 10 years!" Then she finds an explanation from a book about vulvodynia. Just click on the link to read what it is about.

What shocked me was that they find out that one out of TEN women in the UK suffer from this condition one time or another. It doesn't matter whether you've given birth or not, it can happen to you.

Anyway, the woman goes back to the UK and she and her husband are RELIEVED that now they know what is actually going on. For years and years she thought that she had made it up, especially since many doctors said that it was all in her head. Now that they know what it is, they can take steps to try to deal with the problem.

While browsing through the net, I found many stories about vulvodynia. Here is one of them:

I don't know if this book helps or not, but I also found this book:

Well, I hope none of you readers is affected by this condition, but the reason why I decided to share this is because IF any one of you who happens to read this actually experiences this condition, then she'll know that she's not alone and that she's not "hallucinating".

God's Voice

There are moments when God seems to be silent. There are moments when you can hear God's still, small voice speaking to you...to your conscience, to the deepest part of your being. There are moments when you can hear God's LOUD voice booming at you.

Today is one of the days when I heard God's LOUD voice booming at me. It was SO loud that I couldn't have missed it even if I wanted to. I was reading Our Daily Bread and there were so many words in today's passage that really shook me inside.

He listens to me. He comforts me. He understands.
That's all that matters.

Glory to Him who cares for me,
Someone who's but a dust in the wind...

Survey + Indiana Jones

The other day I watched Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull DVD with R2. Yes, we ordered the DVD since he's collecting all the Indiana Jones DVDs. R2 is a HUGE fan of Indiana Jones movies.

I was surprised to see how GREAT Harrison Ford looked in the movie, though he's as old as my Dad!!! And one thing that surprises me is that he looks SO HAPPY in the interviews. And the movie itself is fun to watch. ;-D

Has anyone else seen the movie? What do you think about it?

Shhh! Don't Tell My Dad!

* This is NOT a paid post *

Yesterday I was looking for something else to give to my family, particularly my Dad. He loves chess, but he doesn't know how to use the computer. So I went browsing for some portable chess game online last night and I found one that I hoped would make him happy he he he he...

I found this two-in-one chess station (click on the link to view the product). Actually I bought one from ebay since the price was lower there (but this time I took a precaution and I only bought something if the seller has a 100% rating on over 1,000 sold items) ha ha ha ha...

Anyway, the good news about this chess station is that you can either play it using a portable travel unit or you can also play it the old-fashioned way. Plus you can also plug the chess board to the portable travel unit to game against the computer. I also read a good review about this game from a gamer ---> that's why I LOVE the internet!!!

When I was browsing for computerized portable chess games, I was torn between buying this one and another product. However, in the end I decided to buy this one because of the above reasons and because the chess board and pieces are bigger than the other version.

I thought about buying this portable game since my Dad's retired, so he has less things to occupy his mind with, so this type of stimulation would be good to keep his brain active. Back in the old days when we were still studying at school, he used to play chess in the computer for hoursssss!!! We'll see how well he likes it. I still hope the chess pieces aren't too small for him, though he he he...

Now I need YOUR help, blogger friend!!! I'm thinking of buying a camcorder in the near future, but I want your reviews first to compare and contrast. I've been reading some online guide on choosing camcorders, but I still think it's better to read your reviews first.

So, if you have any good experience with a camcorder and if you're satisfied with it, will you tell me the name and the brand, please? ;-D THANKS in advance for anyone who helps me HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...

3BT: Random Days

1. Feeling whiny and angry (I suppose due to my raging hormones), but decided to sleep it off and it WORKED!!! I'm GLAD I took a long nap ho ho ho ho...

2. My (not-too-new) coworker (she helped out at the office the other month before I started) is a nice girl and we've been talking a bit about this and that. It's nice for a change to be able to communicate with someone else (other than the visitors) at the office. Plus I get to practise my Finnish!

3. Picked up the office phone and didn't understand a thing, even though I tried asking the caller to say it twice, so I gave up and I gave the phone to my boss. Even after that, I didn't curse myself, so that's an improvement!!! At least I tried, right? ;-D

I even told this story to my coworker and we both laughed at it. Being able to laugh at myself is one of my "late" improvements, 'coz for decades I couldn't do it.

Maybe it still takes a year or two before I can handle speaking on the phone with a native Finnish and static background noise he he he...

4. Rainy days don't dampen my mood. I still feel excited, especially about counting down to the days when I'll go back to Indo HUA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

5. Daydreaming about all those glorious types of food I can eat when I'm back in Indo. YUM YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...This daydream is sweet since I know it'll come true soon enough hi hi hi...

6. My hubby who bears with my mood swings. :-)))

7. Again I can't thank hubby enough for making me laugh so much, even when I have mood swings. It's SO much easier to live with someone who makes you laugh, you know? ;-D I had never thought he could be this funny, but I'm OH, SO GLAD that he is!

8. Being able to eat yoghurt every day and being able to buy more fresh veggies and fruit and being able to buy multivitamins (even though prices have gone up). Before hubby got a job and before I got unemployment money, we couldn't really afford to buy anything much.

P.S. I'll blog-hop later today, OK? Been so lazy in blogging he he he...

Update on The Tickets

Well, well, well, it seems that we've reached a better solution rather than paying the extra 300 Euros to buy two plane tickets from Rovaniemi to Helsinki. I'm PLEASED that hubby didn't pay for the tickets right away. Instead, after listening to my screams and my angry expletives (yeah, I can be the devil Amel, too!), he browsed online for alternatives.

First of all, we went through the train webpage. However, turned out that there would be no train to Helsinki that day that would allow us to board the Tuesday plane on time.

Then we found out that the cheaper airline had a Monday flight and we checked up on the price and it was SO cheap!!! However, that meant that we had to stay one night in Helsinki, right? So hubby browsed for some hotels near the airport and he found out that he could use one member card to get a discount in one of the hotels.

You know what? The cheaper Monday tickets PLUS the cost of staying one night in that hotel is LESS than 300 Euros!!! So we've told the travel agent that we're not going to book those expensive tickets and we've already booked the cheaper tickets plus the hotel. ;-D

So we're going to stay at this hotel: Cumulus Airport Helsinki. Phew!!! Now everything's set, so let me blog-hop he he he...

Pssttt...last night I dreamt of one of the local delicacies in Indo that I've missed so much. I definitely am looking forward to going back to Indo in October HE HE HE HE HE...

New Template + Nightmare

It's hard for me to find a new template for my blog, but I think I'll settle for this one for some time. I'd love to change the font of my post titles, but I don't know how to do it. I tried it by tweaking the font and colours settings, but nothing happened. :-(((( I'll go ask around later on as I don't have much time yet.

Anyway, the other night I had a NIGHTMARE!!! It's so scary, you know?

In the dream, I was waiting for R2 at the airport in Jakarta. He was supposed to come for our wedding day. I was there with my Mom (at least) and we were waiting for a LONG time. The plane still hadn't landed yet, even though it was WAY past schedule.

For some reason, even though I couldn't see my relatives there, I knew they were thinking, "Oh, I bet he stood you up!"

With all my heart and soul, I KNEW he couldn't have done such a thing, so I was getting more and more worried. After a while, I couldn't wait any longer, so I asked one of the airport employees about the plane. She said in a grave tone of voice that the plane had crashed around the Alps. (Yeah, beats me!!! It was after all a dream!)

I felt DEVASTATED!!! I just couldn't believe my ears. The woman said that R2 had probably died, but I refused to believe it. I wanted to search for him on my own since there was still a chance that he might still be alive. Even so, I could feel my whole world collapsing around me and it was one of the worst feelings ever.

You can imagine how GLAD I felt when I woke up and realized that he was still sleeping soundly right next to me HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...Phew!!!

Anyway, Monday's my last training day and then I still have 3 last days at the course with the last teacher. We'll talk about the training and other stuff. Only after that I have more time to blog-hop.

How've your weekend been, I wonder? I hope all is well and that everybody's enjoying their time and you're all healthy. ;-D

I Salute!!!

Today was my third training day. Boy, after three days, I TOTALLY SALUTE all those people whose jobs involve almost non-stop physical activities.

Yesterday I was faced with a somewhat funny dilemma hi hi hi hi...My task was to wrap some souvenirs with some plastic and then I had to tie each of them with string and make a little bow there and then cut off the rest of the plastic (the plastic came in a roll, so I had to figure out myself how much was needed to pack the whole thing).

Actually, the first day I also did the same thing, but since it was only 3 hours straight, it was fine. Now yesterday I kept on doing it for around 6,5 hours and after a while my legs got so sore, so I took a stool and right away my legs thanked me TREMENDOUSLY. However, my arms started to protest HA HA HA HA HA...Why? Because I had to held both arms high up to wrap each souvenir and it just started to feel like exercising (honestly!!!).

Today my task was to put price tags on some things (which was nothing much), folded about 20 T-shirts, then I was told to clean up the shelves. Cleaning up the shelves turned out to be SO exhausting. Why? Because on the shelves and tables there are so many small, (mostly) fragile items that needed to be moved first elsewhere. And some of them were heavy. One time I wanted to sit down so much that I just sat on the floor for a few seconds when nobody was around HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...

And embarrassingly enough, I managed to drop some stuff on the floor where there were customers, BUT thankfully, they were made of wood, so they weren't broken or anything. PHEW!!!!!!!

Anyway, I really can't figure out now how much I've taken some people for granted: those people who have to pick heavy things and move them to different places...they're really something!!! I'm STANDING here, saluting all those people whose jobs are so heavy-duty (so to speak). *bowing*

I had been sitting in the classroom for a few months now (from 9 am till 3 pm) and even though I've been exercising twice a week, my body still feels like breaking down at the end of the day. Goodness! How "unfit" I am LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!! But this goes to show that I don't think I'm capable of doing this type of work. Of course I can get used to it, but I think I'm more of an office type of person, thank you very much hi hi hi hi hi...

I'm going to need a full-body massage after this training ends HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...(Yeah, right, as if I didn't want it even though I hadn't done the training - I'm a massage maniac!!!! *WINK*)

Okay, time to blog-hop...but if I get too tired, I'll do it later this weekend, okay? I miss you guys and I'm not forgetting you, but I'm just so exhausted every time I come back home that what I want to do is just SLEEP, SLEEP, and SLEEEEEEPPPPP (oh, and eat, too!) ;-D
