Think Before You...

Today I realize that I've made a HUGE mistake the other day when replying an email to a friend. I wasn't careful with my words and now it's too late to amend the mistake. The damage is done. Thankfully my friend isn't mad at me, but that doesn't mean that I don't regret what I wrote.

There was a situation that we were discussing and by responding to the discussion in the way that I did, I was judgmental and I might have pushed the wrong button, even though I didn't mean to push that button. There are just some cases where other people speak out their thoughts on something and it strikes the wrong chord in you, even though it's not openly directed at you. That was what happened. That is why I can't amend the mistake.

What I can do now and in the future is WATCH what I say or write and really think of the consequences.

  1. I totally understand but that is what makes us human. Just learn from the mistakes. That's what I'm doing.

  2. Dawn: THANKS!!! It just caught me off guard since I didn't think it would be like this...but that was the problem: I was NOT thinking!

Oh well...hopefully it won't happen again!

  3. Very good advice Amel. But, it's hard for me to see you ever truly saying anything too bad.

We are all guilty of making the same mistake. And always remember that we all fall short of His glory everyday no matter how hard we try not too.

    Love and hugs to you!!:-)))

  5. oh amel, i experienced this too...and sometimes i didn't realize that it hurt them, i just said what i thought and maybe that hurt them... i really hate it when the person is not directly say it to me what is the problem but say to another behind me...

  6. Jeanne: Oh, no, bukannya ada orang yang ngerasa sakit hati ama aku trus curhat ama orang laen...tapi kadang kan kita lagi cerita2 tentang satu masalah, trus komentar seseorang tuh bener2 kena ke sisi peka di dalam diri kita, padahal orang itu bukan sengaja ngomentarin tentang sisi peka kita...tapi tetep aja kena...

  8. I'm glad your friend understands. She knows you well and know that it was just a mistake. My son just reminded me the other day not to be too critical of others. Sometimes I forget to watch what I say too.

  9. Our words can at times be weapons that do more harm than we thought. But well, at least you apologised. I am sure that means a lot to your friend.

    Have a Great Day!

Coltfan: Yeah, some things are inevitable. People are different and we have different thoughts, opinion, and soft spots.

  13. True friends forgive these things.. it's what friendship is all about.
Life is not perfect and no one is perfect themselves.

Dont beat yourself up too much about it, guilty feelings about it will not solve anything. Accept it as a shared period of growth between the two of you and move on.

Such is life, to err is human. xxxx
