World's Best Places to Live

Finland comes first in the poll. Interesting!!! However, I don't think that most people here truly appreciate what they have, especially if they haven't travelled much in their lifetime. My friend Michelle (a British lady who's lived here with her family for 3.5 years) shared the same sentiment.

For example, when I first visited my husband (then boyfriend) in Kemi, he complained about the traffic. By traffic, it means in an intersection there are only about 10-12 cars in total. After he visited Indonesia, he had stopped complaining about the traffic he he he he...Nothing compares to the traffic jams in Indonesia!!! Oh well...I guess that's why they say that travelling broadens the mind. ;-D

By the way, there's also another article in case you're interested:

  1. I would love to visit Finland, Amel - and Iceland, too. I have had a desire to visit the Nordic countries (I assume Finland is?) since I was a teenager, but it is so expensive to get there from the UK that I still have some more years saving unfortunately!

  3. Oooh, Amel, thank you - most kind of you. You might live to regret making that invitation to me as I have an irritating habit of taking people up on offers!

  12. Generally, I’d say...the best place to live in is where my family is...he he...Too sentimental, huh?! Just that sometimes, it’s hard to think to live in a better place when your real family is not there and feel like something is missing!! Hmm...guess I AM sentimental... and maybe out of topic as well...LOL!!

  13. Choc Mint Girl: NOT AT ALL, I don't think you're out of topic. In fact, you're quite right about it. ;-D

  15. Fish: HE HE HE...I was actually SHOCKED when I heard his complaints. Then I warned him, "Once you've come to Indonesia, you'll NEVER complain about the traffic here anymore." I knew I wouldn't be able to change his view before he saw how bad the traffic in Indo was he he he...
