Last night I remembered something. In High School, my art teacher wanted us to draw ourselves. I've never been good at drawing. I'm MUCH more a writer than a drawer. Anyway, it was kinda funny since we were encouraged to bring a mirror or a photo of ourselves to class. I think I did an okay job on drawing my own face, though it felt kinda narcissistic to look at myself in the mirror and then trying to emulate my own face HA HA HA HA HA...
The next lesson was to draw a national hero by looking at their photographs in books. I did a PRETTY good job in drawing one hero, BUUUTTTT alas...when I scrubbed out some parts of his face since I wanted to fix the proportion, his face became distorted. I didn't know anymore what went wrong (as I said I'm not good at drawing). I guess the first time I drew him, I must've done something right since it looked more like him...but after I altered some parts of his face, he didn't look like the guy in the picture anymore. *sob sob*
How about you? Have you ever tried drawing yourself? Has anyone ever asked you to do that?
Speaking of our own face...what do you see when you look at your own reflection? Do you see someone you hate? Someone you love? Do you see someone you like? Do you see another person (gee, this is a scary question)?
Well, why don't we all take time to look at our own reflection and then give ourselves a BIG WARM HUG, because if we don't start loving ourselves the way we are, we'll push away everybody who comes near to love us...
So let's make today a LOVING DAY for each and every one of us!!! After all, we do need some loving and sometimes we're our own worst enemy, right????? Let's HUG OURSELVESSSSSS AND ACCEPT OURSELVES, ZITS AND ALLLLL!!!! RIGHT NOW!!! C'mon, everybody!!! Let's throw some Love Fest!!!! ;-D
i never drawing myself. i am not good with draw :D
ReplyDeleteI like the hugging winnie you have hehe
I've never had to draw my own face, but was asked to draw my own thumb in a high school art class which was weird enough.
ReplyDeleteHaving spent most of my life not particularly resembling either parent specifically, it's weird that I look in the mirror now and catch glimpses of my mother :-)
Jul: Yeah, I'm not good at drawing, either, but I had to do it he he...Yeah, Winnie's CUTE, eh? ;-D
ReplyDeleteFish: Oh...now I remember something else. We were also asked to draw our HAND!!! HE HE HE HE HE HE...It's weird, indeed.
Ahhh...you can now catch glimpses of your mother? That's nice! ;-D
I think if I drew myself, you or anyone else, we would all look the same. I am not good at drawing at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, sometimes when I look in the mirror I can see how much one of my sisters and I look alike.
I'm bad at drawing faces. I take my own photo from time to time and look back. needless to say, it's easy to see how much I've changed in the last few years.
ReplyDeleteI like your 'love yourself day'!
I was good in drawing when I was in High School, but I haven't been drawing for such a long years now he he...
ReplyDeleteI remember we were asked to form a group of 2, then, draw the face of our partner. I couldn't remember whose face I drew, but I remembered one of my classmates looked gloomy because she didn't like the outcome of the drawing from her partner ha ha ha... I've seen it actually and it was very ugly ha ha ha...
Kathy: So there are so many people not good at drawing, including me.
ReplyDeleteSo you look much alike one of your sisters? That's nice! ;-D
Blur Ting: You still look YOUNG to me, esp. with teenage kids! :-))))
Glad you enjoyed my "love yourself" message. ;-D
Choc Mint Girl: HUA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...THANKS for making me laugh!!! HI HI HI HI HI...I think it's a bad idea to ask people to do that: form a group of 2 and draw the partner's face. After all, people have very different drawing ability HI HI HI HI HI HI...
Hey Girl!
ReplyDeleteI have never drawn myself. I had drawing classes, but I only drew dead-nature, vases, geometric figures, learned how to draw in perspective perspective, and I used to draw clothes.
LOL when I look at myself in the mirror I see a person I know for a long long time, someone I missed :).
This was a great post, girl :D! And the final image is soooo cute: I loved it :)!
Cheers
Max: Oh yeah, we also had those perspective lessons, but we never drew any clothes. One time we had to draw an animal from 6 different angles or in 6 different forms he he he he he...
ReplyDeleteAhhhh...it's GREAT to see someone you missed when you look at the mirror! ;-D
Glad you enjoyed this post and the image HE HE HE HE...;-D
