Rereading our old emails really touched my heart dearly...mmmmm...One of the reasons I love him is because he can be so sentimental...you'll know what I mean after you read a part of his diary below (he wrote it in Finnish and translated it for me and sent it to me via email):
2004 April 11th, Sunday
Still alive, even my poetry vein hasn't been throbbing in a long while at least here on my dear diary's pages. Life's gone forward and partly still stayed in a same place. I moved to Kemi in last year's September, if my grey brain cells remember it correctly.
And what else is going on in my life? I finally met the woman of my life, the woman who repaired my heart, gave me hope for a better, not so lonely life, a woman who has made an indelible impression to me already years ago. A woman who I want to be my lifetime partner, wife, mother of my children, a woman who I know I'll love until eternity. A woman who saved me from self-destruction... as a matter of fact, this list could go on until the distant future, because the words simply can't describe the feeling which in the bottom of my soul at this very moment wants to scream the name of my woman, so loud that in the other universe they would know how much I LOVE Amelia and how much I MISS her at this very moment. Of course she's back in Indonesia, but the two weeks we spent together were indescribably unbelievable.
Until this I thought I couldn't fall in love with anyone with such a total commitment, that I wouldn't hesitate even a millisecond if I could walk with her in the aisle at this very moment and swear my eternal love to her. She's the one I want. She's my future. She's my missing half, my soul mate. She's everything I ever saw in the woman of my dreams. She's the dream come true of a better tomorrow. She's my life. She's the one I'm here for. She's the meaning of my life. She's my home.
~ Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition.

~ Love is not a union merely between two creatures, it is a union between two spirits.

~ Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.
(Robert Frost)
And now let me share this lovely song, "Forever Love" by Reba McEntire he he he...
wow...that was a great love letter :D Hope you both grow old together, have 2 or 3 children hua ha ha ha...
ReplyDeleteI was think to have 2 children in the first time. But now, hmmmmm...i will think 10 times or more to have another child.
Sweet. I have kept my letters like that...its so nice to look back at.
ReplyDeleteYou are very much how I was in the first decade of being in love with my Husband. I wanted to shout it to everyone! LOL...it calms down eventually, naturally... but the feelings keep growing and modifying into a depth that is unfathomable.
We have our twentieth wedding anniversary this year...and I am still able to declare to the world how much I love him! Love is great!
Twenty years have gone by SO quickly! Twenty two years if you count the two before we got married...
I think, somehow...that you will enjoy your first Valentines Day together somehow...LOL.
Juliana: THREE????? Oh no...one or two would be fine ha ha ha ha...Yeah, I understand what you mean about not really wanting to have another child now. But we'll see, Jul, we'll see he he he...
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for your well-wishes, though. I also hope you can grow old together with Ray. ;-D
Mrs Arctic Rainbow: HE HE HE HE HE...Indeed!!! We have hundreds of emails. ;-D
THANKS for sharing your own love story. It reinforces what I believe so far: that it grows into a depth that's unfathomable. ;-D And you're right, it has actually calmed down somewhat, but it expands, too...since I can share more things with him in real life than what we could only share in cyberspace he he he...
Love is DEFINITELY great! ;-D And I wish you MANY MANY more WONDERFUL years to come!!! ;-D
Ahhhh...we have no plans for our first Valentine's Day...let's just make every day a Valentine's Day as best as we can HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...
Awww Amel, Arttu is so sweet! I wish you both the best.
ReplyDeleteI kept all the love letters my husband gave me. When we were'nt married yet, I get one love letter from him everyday, but I don't think he'll want me to blog about it, lol.

ReplyDeleteOh, that was the sweetest, most romantic love letter ever! You are so blessed!
ReplyDeleteLove like you and your husband share is hard to find. Never let it go. My husband and I have been married for 16 years. We've gone through a very rough time in our relationship but I determined to fight to hold on even if it hurt like hell. Sometimes love is not all rosy and beautiful but if you decide to love, then you must work everyday to maintain it. February is the love month. I hope that all couples realize the immense responsibility love essentially is.
ReplyDeleteJay: Glad you enjoyed this post and the "funny monkey" video. Maybe I should help you look for your left butt cheek HA HA HA HA HA...LOL!!! ;-D

Wifespeak: Yeah, love is hard work indeed. :-))) Has to be nurtured. We've only been married for a little over a year, so we still have a LONG way to go but we intend on making it work until death do us part. :-)))))
