Why Do Women Cry? and A Strong Woman

Yes, maybe you've read these from forwarded emails. However, I think any good message deserves to be shared, even just to remind us once more. Both were taken from this site: PositiveThoughts.com. I've put the link in my sidebar.

Why do Women Cry?

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he asked God. He said, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said:

" When I made the woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

A Strong Woman
by Luke Easter & Dee Cheeks

A strong woman works out every day
to keep her body in shape.

But a woman of strength kneels in prayer
to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything.
But a woman of strength
shows courage in the midst of her fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her.
But a woman of strength
gives the best of her to everyone.

A strong woman walks sure footedly.
But a woman of strength
knows God will catch her when she falls.

A strong woman wears the look
of confidence on her face.

But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that
she is strong enough for the journey.

But a woman of strength has faith that
it is in the journey that she will become strong.

  2. LOL!!! Yeah, women and men are so different in some ways that it's hard to make them truly understand us.

  3. I absolutely love the first poem, it's so damn amazing... it sounds so true... soooo magical... fabulous, next time, I'll go for the eyes than her figure :P

But you know, I have yet to appreciate beauty from one's eye, I never have... It's always been more about how they hold themselves, how they talk, how they act and how they dress. Let's see what I can discover by going for the eyes next time...

    you've made my day :)

  5. I am speechless...I loved both texts! A beautiful summary of what it means to be a woman, and an interesting dichotomy between apparently similar women (strong woman Vs woman of strength)...nice word game too! Men have a lot to learn about the ladies! Cheers!

I just wish I knew the writers of those texts so I could write down their names. Oh well...
