Here in Finland there's been a Talent Show like in America. I wanna introduce you to this girl. She's singing her own song in this video clip (plus she plays the piano herself!!!) and I think she's got a very unique voice. You can also hear a bit of Finnish in the beginning and in the end (in the end you'll get to hear her say "Kiitos" a few times) he he he he...I get shivers whenever I hear her sing this song.
Don't ask me what the song's about though ha ha ha...All I can hear is that "Now it's always cold here" and in the end she sang "You're far away..." he he he he...
The title of the song is "Varpaisillaan" ----> I didn't know the meaning of it until I checked out my dictionary hi hi hi hi hi...It means "on one's tiptoes".
If you wanna hear more of her songs without viewing the video clip, go here:
Choc Mint Girl: Yeah, that's true hi hi hi hi...How does Finnish sound to your ears? Does it sound strange? Harsh? Crude? And did you like the song or her voice? ;-D
Hi, Amel! The song is not bad, but her voice is okay. The language sounds SO different to my ears...he he he...How do you say "I Love You" in Finnish? Does it sound romantic?? He he he...
Stacy: You got goosebumps, too? GREAT!!! So I'm not the only one he he he...Well, any new language is difficult to learn he he he...
Jesie: THANKS for dropping by! Yeah, her voice is something, isn't it? ;-D
Kelcey: My classes are on a break now, but they're going to continue again in January. I have been slacking in my Finnish studies, so I should start learning again tonight. THANKS for reminding me HE HE HE HE HE...
Trinity: YES, that was why I put this video clip he he he...Yeah, Finnish people do talk fast. That's why it's hard for me to understaaannnddd he he he...
No, it's not a traditional song. She wrote the song herself. ;-D
Choc Mint Girl: I love you in Finnish is "Rakastan sinua" ---> actually it's "love you". We omit the "I" in the sentences usually he he he...but the long version would be "Minä rakastan sinua."
Sounds rough, eh? Not as beautiful as "I love you" HE HE HE HE HE...
Woww...the judges' faces were so serious. Now I know how the word 'kiitos' is pronounced ha ha ha...
