HIP HIP HURRAYYYY!!!!

I just got news from my oldest closest friend that her baby boy has been born through C-section this morning. His name is Darren Emmanuel Setiadi he he he he...Nice name, isn't it? ;-D

Yesterday evening her hubby sent me a message through YM that she had undergone contractions, but the contractions didn't seem to be going well. They're both doctors, so I don't know what it actually means. He said that if the contractions didn't go well still until this morning, they would do C-section on her. They work in a missionary hospital in Serukam, Kalimantan, and her mother's specially flown there for the purpose of helping them out.

She had Braxton Hicks contractions on the second semester of her pregnancy that made her had to stop working for a while. She was worried about giving birth prematurely and we were, too.
Her gynecologist even gave her injections to quicken the fetus' lungs to mature in case the baby was born prematurely. So we're all SO glad that they're both healthy and she could carry him full-term. Ahhhhhhh...

I still haven't got a picture of him yet, but I bet her hubby's taking PLENTY of pics of him HE HE HE HE HE HE HE...

MANY MANY CONGRATULATIONS to my friends!!!! HIP HIP HURRRAAAYYY!!!!!

And here are some more pics I took the other week that I couldn't upload since Blogger was having problems he he he he...

First pic: the pic of a church building here in Sodankylä. As far as I know, there are only two churches here.

Second pic: a pic of the frozen river.

Third pic: a picture of the fiery sky again he he he he...

And here's another video clip of downtown Sodankylä. As you can see, there are no tall buildings here he he he...

The last video clip of downtown Sodankylä, taken from the other side of the street.

ENJOY your Sunday, everybody! Christmas is coming VERY VERY SOON!!! AND THANK YOU for all your concerns about my mother-in-law!

P.S. ADDITIONAL INFO on Finland:

Even though the sun rises at 11 am and sets at 3 pm now, usually at around 9 pm the sky's already a bit bright (normally covered by whitish/baby bluish clouds). And even though the dark period is LONG in winter, remember that in summer Lapland has Midnight Sun (the sun doesn't set at all)...so it's kinda balancing the long dark period in winter.

Funny thing is that before I came here, I used to gather info from Finland Forum about expats' lives in Finland and many complained about the long dark months here...but I must say that I don't feel depressed because of it (the first month it got dark pretty soon, I just felt sleepy so easily). After all, I get to see fiery sky and gorgeous sunrise and sunset every now and then (when the sky's not covered up by clouds). Plus in summer it's VERY bright here he he he he...
